There is a serious problem with noob buying techniques and that is that most of the time it's suggested that either one of these two items are to be bought: Joye 510 Joye Ego Certainly, these two choices aren't the only end-all be-all for beginners. My first e-cigarette and the topic of this review is one I'd like to add to the slightly never expanding list of things we suggest for new users. This would be the Joye 510 Ultra(and the other terrible names tagged onto it to make it look special at certain shops).
So what's in this blasted thing, anyway, and what makes it different, better or worse than the latter two I've already mentioned? First of all I'd like to dispel a belief that I've heard once before and it's the idea that a Joye 510 with an Ultra battery on it is a Joye 510 Ultra. A Joye 510 Ultra is more than a battery, the cartridges are larger and can hold more juice, the atomizers are longer and as I've noticed a bit already, sturdier and if not a terrible pain to de-bridge due to the depth of the coil. I also don't believe in categorized reviews, this will be more like an essay. Sectioning off a review dumbs it down to simple yes and no, black and white, good or bad type reviews. I'd rather be a bit more rounded off on this one. A Joye 510 Ultra is exactly what would happen if R&D at the Joyetech factory decided they needed something in between a 510 and an Ego and more than likely that was the story when it was created. The battery life is more than a 510 but far less than an Ego, but it looks more like a cigarette and is lighter than an Ego. It helps if you're into appearances. The atomizer therein is indeed a Joye 510 atomizer but set deeper and wired longer for its length in the tube. The batteries are indeed the same but with an added hour or so of battery life in them. I vape constantly unless I'm playing a video game or driving, normally I leave the bridges on because I've had iffy experiences removing them and the ones that are removed dry out far quicker than I'd like. Everything that was run through this device was 60/40 pg/vg Freedomsmokeusa e-juice, honestly the only brand I vape. This should give you a good idea in terms of battery life. On the issue of sturdiness, ok. Let me give you a good idea here of just how sturdy this piece of machinery is. When I started vaping(in September of last year), I bought an extra battery and two extra atomizers when I bought the original Joye 510 Ultra kit from Healthcabin.com. Since then and it being April 12 2011, I haven't broke one Atomizer or Battery nor have I replaced any.
Damn strait. I clean and rotate an atomizer once every two weeks with 91% rubbing alcohol and completely dry it set in an osculating fan overnight. These things hold up like brick to a very angry and lung-filled wolf. Now, I have no idea what Joyetech is doing differently to these atomizers that they aren't doing to the standard 510 atomizers but I personally believe it has something to do with the length of the metal alloy surrounding it vs the hardware inside of it. It appears well protected and I rarely drop my e-cig although it has met the concrete about five times since I bought it. It vapes like any good Joyetech device should, and that's full and bright while being reliable. This isn't a powerful monster of an e-cigarette. It's a reliable piece of machinery. This is my old standby that sits in my armory for use when in any situation I find myself in a firefight between me and 5,000 angry men with guns in a bloody muddy battlefield. It's like the colt .45 of e-cigarettes. I've even let the atomizers gum up a bit at one point just to see if the connection would faulter and it never does. It always, always vapes the same. On the issue of carts, I can't speak much on it because I find it troublesome and messy to constantly refill carts when you're vaping. I direct-drip and that's it. That's all I do. No cartomizers or carts in my situation. Also, de-bridging this particular atomizer is a massive ..... of a thing to do because of the depth of the connection within its casing. It was possible but I'll be damned if it didn't make me fluster a few times in shame and frustration. -- So, why not add this beautiful device to the list of reliable, wonderful and bountiful(just about every shop sells it) machinery to our e-cigarette popularity contest? Personally, I find it a replacement to the Joye 510 and honestly once you buy one, you never really have a reason to go back. It just holds up better.
