Hi

Maybe it's me. When I vape my Joye510, usually the first puff is the best, subsequent puffs are weak with little vapor even after I have filled the cartridge - which brings me to another question. Do I keep filling the cartridge when the vape gets weak? Seems like I fill it every time (after about 5 puffs). Am I over-vaping myself? Do these cartridges just go "bad" after a while from constant soaking? I find myself using only one and carry the 3ml bottle with me. Really new at this so pardon the stupid questions.

Thank you in advance.

You may be puffing too fast. The liquid needs time to flow. Puffing too fast can run the atty dry. Here's an instruction sheet From Shenzhen Joye Technology. It might help

How do you smoke the Electronic cigarette?
E-smoking is different from normal smoking. E-smoking is a matter of inhaling rather then smoking. When you inhale, you should consider the following:
Do not inhale continuously or for a long period. Do not pull too heavy or too fast or too many times in a short period of time. This will have a negative effect on the cigarette function
Always pull slowly (3 to 5 times pulling) and let the atomizer rest in between for at least 3 minutes. Over consuming your E-cigarette will lead to malfunctions. If you whish to inhale more or more frequently it is advised to use 2 sets of E-cigarettes at the alternatively.

Maintenance
1. Clean the battery and atomizer by using purified alcohol to clean the contact points of the battery and atomizer with a clean paper tissue. By doing this regularly, your cigarette will perform better.
2. Clean the inside of the atomizer with a paper tissue, to absorb remaining liquid.

3. If you feel your cigarette does not produce enough smoke or the pulling becomes heavy, it is time to clean. Blow through the atomizer side, on the other side you will see liquid coming out. After this operation, clean everything and dry it with a paper tissue. Your cigarette should be working better now. If the cigarette does not perform better, go to point 4.

4. Take the inside of an old cartridge and pull it out of the mouthpiece. Rinse it with water and press it dry. Put it back in the cleaned mouthpiece. Pour 2 drops of hot water on the cartridge. Smoke without inhaling for a few minutes and check the cartridges. If the cartridge is brown, take it out and repeat the procedure until clean. Then put in a new cartridge and new battery. Your cigarette should be ok now.

5. Self resetting: If you have the impression your cigarette does not develop enough smoke or the pulling is heavy you can try this: put the battery side in your mouth and blow on it. There are 2 little holes next to the LED light. Now your atomizer heats up and burns the rest liquid on the atomizer. Do not exceed 12 seconds of blowing or your atomizer will burn dead. After this operation your cigarette will function normal again. You will need to replace the battery and charge the one you just used.
Grand cleaning operation
Sometimes you might think your atomizer is dead, because smoke reduces significantly. In this case you can do the following:

-Take out the cartridge and mouthpiece and battery.

-Clean contact points of battery and atomizer with purified alcohol.

-Take the atomizer with the big opening up and pour purified alcohol inside. Shake the atomizer for at least 2 minutes, drain the alcohol through the small hole at the other side and repeat this at least 3 times

-Rinse the atomizer with hot water and let it dry for 16 hours standing up.

-After 16 hours, if your atomizer is dry, you can put in a new cartridge and new battery. Your cigarette will work normal again.

Hi

Hi, Roy.

No, it ain't just you. :) I'm another newb with the same problem. As others pointed out, it's a wicking issue.

Anyways, I like to take several puffs quickly, especially when stressed, and this has been driving me nuts, so I sort of took advice into account, and did a workaround for myself.

Firstly, I use at least two 510s at the same time.

Secondly, I take somewhat shorter puffs then I do with an analog - this way I can do two or three puffs in a row instead of just one.

I store my e-cigs batt down between puffs. I have a narrow glass on my desk with 510s stuck in it like pens. :)

After I am done puffing, I sort of twirl the e-cig gently between my fingers (in the batt-down position), maybe tap on it (gently, on the side, kinda like the nurses tap on a syringe before they give you a shot), I even tried blowing into the mouth-piece (which is kinda funny, because the "wistle-tip" carts I use actually do whistle if you do that) - all of this to encourage the liquid to move towards the atomizer. I swear this works. I never have to wait all that long for the next series of puffs. Certainly not three minutes.

At first all this extra manipulation was irritating me (being used to just sucking up a cigarette with no fuss), but now it's becoming part of the vaping ritual, and I am rather enjoying it, actually.

Cheers,
Briar.
