joyetech ego-t 18650 for first mod?

I have never used a mod. Would the joyetech ego-t 18650 be a good start? And does it have any safety features besides the standard 5 click on/off feature?

It is not a bad unit. Basically all you are getting though is a much longer time between charges, and that it uses less expensive batteries when they need to be replaced. Are you looking for something more with variable voltage, and other features or just the extended life?

I have one and rather like it. It's not my go-to device by any means, I bought it more as back up and to have a rechargeable mod.

It does have two modes--3.3 volt moderated (like a standard eGo) and unregulated so it follows the battery voltage, or 4.2 down to 3.2 when fully drained. Aside from the lock, and the pretty standard cut off time, I don't know if it has any other safety features.

It's definitely not for you if you like a smaller mod. It's quite thick and heavy, although not especially long.

I don't think the "t" is an upgrade. If not it doesn't have that feature... only the 5-click dead off one. I think its the "t2" that's the upgraded one with the feature you mention. Sorry if I'm wrong about that but I would sure check it out first.

ok thanks. Don't know anything about mods and just wanted to try an inexpensive one. The longer battery life sounds good.

It's definitely listed as the "Joyetech Ego-T Mod 18650," and at least mine does have the feature. Or perhaps they made a mistake and accidentally sent me a better one.

Another nice feature is you can charge it with a USB ego charger.

Yea, the charging with the ego rapid charger is a nice feature, but it does take awhile to charge that way.

i wonder why they settled in on 3.3v for the fixed voltage. 3.7 would be more appropriate for a vaper like me

then again, i guess you could always run a 1-1.5ohm coil on it to get to the wattage i prefer.

Well joyetech designs all their products to work with their products for the most part. The 3.3v is what they recommend using their atomizers at which is why all their ego and 510 batteries are pretty much regulated to this voltage.
