I just got my Evic. I really like it. I was a bit complicated to run the toggle switch at first.
It has settings for titanium coils, nickle coils, and another for other coil types.
They have an express kit for about $45 at workdofvape.it came with the device, usb cord, and a silicone sleeve.

Ahh there's so many things that can go wrong get when one starts tc...

#2- if you overpower the coil you will go into temp protect Instantly which turns the power down = weak vape.

This one I haven't experienced Jeremy. I run my wattage setting at 45w even though my STminis can only handle 35w consistently while hitting tp. I do this to encourage faster firing times and the evic has no problem quickly throttling back the power to approx 35w once tp is reached. In other words, 35w is the maximum wattage my STminis will run at when temp protecting/temp controlling based on juice flow, my airflow setting and my preferred temp setting. If I set the the power to 60w however, I detect a slight burny edge to the vape. Here, I believe the evic is allowing a slight momentary temp over run due to excessive power being applied when it's not necessary. So 45w seems to be the highest power I can run with my STminis while the evic is temp protecting/temp controlling.

Point is, I want the evic to go into temp protect quickly so that it takes control of power regulation (temp controlling) as quickly as possible. This produces the "strongest" vapor production at any given temp setting

I know there are peeps out there that set wattage where tp is never reached unless the wick goes dry, but they're just using their temp control mod as a temp protect device and missing out completely on the mod's temp control feature and maximum vapor production.

I wasnt imolying something wrong with tge evic, it just tp in general.

This was/is my first to device and I could notice the tp and it was different than kanthal. I wanted a kanthal like vape and that gave it to me.

Theres not a wrong way to vape.. Its a personal preference and everyone has different vaping styles.. I was previously running right at the edge with kanthal and wanted basically full wattage as long as possible, not some temp protected 20 something watts to sustain heat.

If a new person runs a 20-30w tank at 60w and complains it goes to tp instantly that's the problem. I have seen this complaint many times.. There's also million ways to vape there's really not a right or wrong.

tp is not too bad I'm getting used to it and have gone up to 45 from 40w

Single coil 28g at 45w in a FEV 2.5-3mm air.

I gotcha. Hope my post didn't sound critical, that wasn't my intent. Just I see a lot of peeps moving from kanthal to tc and for fear of vapor reduction never reach tp.

Like you, many of us had our kanthal vapes dialed in great, trusting our heat sensitivity and timing instincts to produce maximum vapor and flavor. Trusting tc to provide an equivalent or better vape was shaky for me for a while. Things are great now with temp control but I still have my trusty kanthal rdas to pound on once in a while. Still hàve yet to do a tc rda. The evic can provide enough power for a single coil rda. Have you gone their yet?

:?: scratches head and wonders…

so you are not using TC, to save your set-up from producing ‘burn’ taste
you are allowing TC to be the controlling factor

guess I am doing OPPOSITE
trying to ‘dial –it-in’ Myself
then TC guards my settings from burning…

- - - - - - - -
I take it up to the Rev Limiter, then shift gears (watts)

you’re holding your foot down, letting the motor run on the Rev Limiter (TC)
- - - - - - - -

(guess Eleaf thinks as you, enter TC mode and setting goes to MAX 40w, non adj)

interesting – I might adjust my style,
and see if it produces different results

how did you get your optimal settings?curious
since i too am still shaky from the whole switch,
i mean before it was just all about tuning just your coils, then moved to vw finding the right wattage,

now eveyythingis confusing, even building from pulsing to not pulsing (annealing for some) of coils
to finding the right wattage to the temp

how did you do it?

Love the rev limiter analogy, but it's more like cruise control. It won't let you go faster than the cruise speed setting (temp setting) but it will apply more or less throttle (watts) based on engine load (juice flow and airflow).;)

If you never engage cruise (hit temp protect) your cruise control (temp control) is not working eg. no throttle control.

The evic has to be in a constant state of temp protect to be in a constant state of temp control. As far as I know, all temp control mods work this way. That said, some of the earliest temp protect mods would not control wattage, or would but very poorly. The evic rocks in that regard, glass smooth temp control.

Re setup for temp control:

Just make sure the mod displays temp protect every second or so when vaping while looking in a mirror. If not, turn up your wattage until it does. I like to add 10w or so beyond that to speed heat time and reduce juice spitting.

how cool are those little wire spool / cases Unkamen uses

I ALMOST tore the first one open to get to the wire inside before I realized

wish they all were like that...

Is Missouri some kind of USPS black hole, my wire still hasn't left the state after three days? Or at least tracking isn't showing it.

*edit*
Right after I posted this it showed up at at my local PO.

haha , yepper me too...

was thinking of emailing them just to tell them what I was doing with Titanium wire
then thought they might increase price because of such...

maybe suggest they carry JOC (j organic cotton)
making it a one-stop-shop
:D

There are reviews showing people using it for vaping so I think he knows
