Yeah before this I was a die hard sigelie fan.. Going back to the zmax... But I don't have any bad things to say about the vt.

I'm going to try a lower build next time to see if that helps. I know this coil gets real close to an ohm just sitting after a hit.

The res change visable in wattage mode shows ss430 goes from .8 up to 1.4. I think it may be staying above 1 ohms for too long.. Just a guess but I'll try it...

Good News Everyone!

I used my LG 1A charger, and it fully 100% charged.

Excellent..

Yeah this isn't no sissy battery, you've got essentially two cell phone batteries in there..

So they need some real juice to get their charge on.

I was running twisted 28g at .34ohm and having probs. Good luck "J".

I've been debating those as well as the D2. The VTC Mini wins on screen,
IDK if the TC60W supports Ti and I already have another ipv product. Is the VTC Mini made of metal? I like the TC60W puts the 510 in the center of the mod top.

I’ll stick with the Joye/eLeaf/Wismec family
and the Innokin products… (that’s a ME thing)

yes the VTC is aluminium (like VT)

- what I like about each (TC60 & VTC)-

I like the dual straight-on-side doors (8 mags)
center position 510 fitting
without much clothes while on the beach, the lanyard
is appealing to me…
28mm width would accommodate a 25mm topper
and probably not bad with a 30mm one too…
- -
front bottom USB (meh)
upgrade and now (75w) capable
I like & use the ego one tanks (CLR)
added ‘bypass’ mode

- similarities
60W
200°-600°
single 18650
easy menu
kit price $
size
both able to adj “watts” in TC mode (++)
VW-Ti-Ni , modes
springy 510, SS threads

don’t care much about ‘bottom’ charging (I lay mine down so not to fall anyway)
but I don’t like the ‘open’ port on bottom to allow dirt/water in
a silicone cover would deter this somewhat

I think the battery cover would be easier to lose on the VTC

at this point, WHEN I decide to buy,
it might just be whatever the best deal is
they are just that close for me…

Now on to this, the D2 is a feature-less device. Shoot, the thing won't tell you anything about your build, " while vaping". It won't even show the climbing res of a tc coil in vw mode, an essential feature imo. The VT mini or Eleaf TC60w would be a better choice but the Apollo Reliant would be my choice for single 18650 devices. It tells all about your build "while vaping" and has adj tcr so you can run whatever wire you choose. What more could you ask for in a single 18650 device?

Spend the few extra bucks for the Reliant imo. The only reason I don't have one now is I'm trying to win one on ecf!!!!

I could not agree more as I already own a Reliant. I've been looking for a replacement for my TC40 which has a 510 which is starting to not like many of my tanks mounted. The size and weight are almost ideal. The price is the other defining measure - sure I could pick up another Reliant for $99, SXminiM for $169 or even another Boxer for quite a bit more ($249?) but I was considering the EVIC or mini for tossing in the car for the ride to work - less than $40 is the target price.

However the Evic/mini offer something different - nice large displays and different menu system.

Ok, $40. The vape on the Evics is glass smooth in tc even when in tp. I have not tried the Reliant or any other sxk mod but I have tried many other tc mods. The only thing I can compare to the evic for smooth temp control eg. no rattlesnaking or pulsyness is the dna 200. I don't have a dna200 either but have not been impressed by any other tc mod I've tried to date. Some here on ecf who have sxk and dna mods have commented positively on the evic's smooth operation as well. Bang for the buck, it's hard to beat an evic.

New ss430 coil on the vt last night
.62 ohms this time. It's holding so far... And hitting like a beast at 280-300f in ti mode.

.62 - .84 is the res change shown in vw mode @42w

    Fev v2, 3mm

I had a perfect coil at first till I was messing around firing it under running water before I wicked it.. and two coils got out and glowed uneven and tweaked the coil a bit.. Sucked but used it anyway.

I noticed when I tried annealing a piece that a spot I overheated for just a second almost burned through and was brittle. This one was off the spool and slowly heated in temp mode. It starts to glow a little at 300f worked up to full glow slowly.

    Edit-
    and it jumped... Shh..

Awww, dangit. I thought maybe I'd try a single strand 6wrap and use your annealing process to see if my Evics could handle it at .6ish ohms. Rats

Yeah, it jumped and about 5 min later it was reading again and I'm back in ti mode. !#$!&

I did notice one thing after it came back.. When i went to see the res change... Right when I first hit the button I saw a flash of something over one ohm on the screen then it went to the normal range.

Possibly the ss430 res jumps / spikes overly high sometimes when the voltage spike hits it.

Im currently at just 30w and 280 which is a pretty decent vape for 30w. See if this helps maybe keep the initial pulse down.
