I've gone through about probably 10-15 original occs to this point, they go usually anywhere from .5-.8. I used to think it was my mods, but all 3 reading off? After seeing your comments, maybe it's the coils.

Here's a weird question, just out of curiosity. If I'm using regular occ coils, obviously the temp control feature is basically nonexistent right? So if I use my ni200 occs, does the mod automatically use temp control, or is it possible to use nickel coils without using that feature at all?

Actually, I just remembered why it is bad to use nickel coils without temp control on. Nickel wire is very soft to begin with. If you heat it up too much (i.e. heat up the coil without temperature protection on) the wire will actually deform and melt. Not melt to the point where you are vaping a pool of liquid nickel, but the coil will unwind and hang there like it was a thread and not metal wire.

Here's the odd thing about these coils......on two different coils, the very first time I screwed them onto my rDNA40, they both read as 0.21 ohms (fresh new coils, never been fired, just primed with juice). I then unscrewed them and screwed them back in and one registered as 0.15 ohms, the other registered as 0.14 ohms. When I screwed them onto the evic-VT, they all registered as 0.14 ohms. One of these, I'm using now, the other one was a dud (the one where the ohms kept jumping all over the place).

The first three coils out of the same box all registered at 0.15 ohms right out of the box. But out of those three coils, one ended up being a dud since after half a tank, it felt like the coil was clogged up...no flavor, vapor was almost nonexistent, got a couple of dry hits.

sounds about par for the course. Most of mine have ended up at R=0.12 or 0.13. Some havent worked at all. They are a bad design and the new vertical coil versions should be a big improvement although not yet available to my knowledge.

As it is we will have to wait before the new vertical coils are available separately. It will be even longer before Kanger starts making vertical nickel coils.

??? I think the new VCs are supplied with the new subtanks (although I think they are designed in collaboration with vaporshark like the atlantis Ni heads..)

The one slight negative I might point out at this stage is that the 510 connection is slightly raised, so the atomizer won't sit completely flush with the top.

Which tanks have you tried that won't sit flush? Have any other then their tank fit?

I already bought one (battery kit only) in a local shop for 80 euro, hope to get it this week.

KFL and Aqua V2 clones. Like I said, the 510 is ever so slightly raised from the top, so there's a hair's breath gap. Just enough to not scratch the polished metal surface like would happen on the iStick 50W. It's not a deal breaker, just an observation.

True, although the China prices are also rising look at FT or GB but if you can buy it local for a few extra (well a few ) then I choose for local that gives some advantages also.

The current sale price in the states is ridiculous. I only paid 10 dollars more than I paid for the i50. And the number of additional features over the i50 is awesome. Too many to list right now...

I opted for free shipping from eciggity to save 6.00 to put toward a hotcig FEV 3. Hope I don't have to wait too long for my cheapness. Shipping out of Hawaii could get me; hope its here in a week.

The Subtanks included in the Subox kit does comes with the new vertical coils, but you can't get replacement vertical coils yet (and those coils are Kanthal, not nickel). That's why I said that it will be a while before you can start buying vertical replacement coils. The nickel OCC's are all the old style horizontal coil. And since they just recently started making the OCC with horizontal nickel coils, do you think they will automatically stop production and start cranking them out with vertical coils? How long will it be before we start seeing vertical nickel coils available?

After you mentioned it, I checked and it is the same with my Subtank Mini. If I hold it up to the light, I can see the thin gap between the bottom of the tank and the top of the mod. The gap is basically the thickness of a sheet of paper. One sheet of paper can fit into the gap. If I fold the paper in half, the two sheet thickness does not fit.
