Oh....fyi, the fixed pin system on the heatvape invader mini works great on the occ ni coils, go figure. I think that even though the spring loaded pin is better for most tanks in tc to compensate for fluctuations caused by heat....it actually causes the fluctuations in the occ head due to the style of grommet and pin used

I wonder if a little noalox would help. I know it saved my IPV2 from an early grave as it would go from normal 1.3 ohms to 2,3,4 and higher. Hitting a KF at 50W isn't fun. I haven't had any issues since I started that practice a little under a year ago.

I put a little dab of that goop in my metal vape stand so every time I switch out the threads get just a smidge.

Doubt it..... The problem with the occ heads is the evic spring loaded 510 is too good, it applies enough pressure on the bottom of the occ pin that it causes fluctuations in the resistance....pop on an rba head, no problems at all

Decided to bust out the powder coat gun on the subtank. Didn't want to wait for Kanger to release the black version separately!

Nice!

Black subox subtank now being sold separately:

Kangertech SUBOX Subtank Mini - Black

Saw it for $29 somewhere else but don't remember where. Heaven gifts has them but high - even for heaven gifts.

I got an Evic vt, and out of the box, the toggle is really loose. It actually lifts off a little when you twist it to either side to make an adjustment. Is this something I could fix myself?

I have the Vt in 2 other colors, so I know it's not normal.
I would send it back to the Vendor. Mine is slightly loose but doesn't life off unless I put my fingernail under it. It should have some play. I have 2 and they both seem to have a little play to them

Not really subjective...a lipo has a "flatter" output curve, less battery sag as voltage drops, which is why you hear about amazing battery life in mods that use them. They are the way to go for enclosed battery mods like this

well i have to agree with u on this. That's why we use lipo battery with our RC car, better power and punch. If a lipo batter fully charge and did't use for long time, the battery juice still there when ever u use it.

So far, what I'm noticing here is that those having the biggest problems with the Evic are new to TC/TP. I'm a relative newb as well, as I only have one other device that pretends to TP. Plus, those working with the Mega coils and some with the Ni OCC.

I don't think these devices are really built for MTL hitters. I think TP really needs the airflow. I get what one dude is saying about the first registered temperature being high and making it hard for MTL. I don't have experience with yihi or dna40 chips, so me comparing it to those is unfair.

But let's think about TP...where is the temp sensor in any of these devices? There isn't one. Anything that measures temperature has to have a sensor, so all any of these chips do is guesstimate through algorithms. Best they could do is take temp off the legs, which wouldn't match the coil. So, it's key to understand that nothing is perfect, yihi and dna40 have mixed reviews as well.

What I do know, is that I get even temped draws that is regulated by increasing and decreasing wattage with the help of air flow.

I'm not judging anyone...I just think folks need to take the time to understand who the device is for and what the key components to TC/TP are. The good news is that it also does VW, so it's not a total waste for those that can't TP on it.
The coil itself is the sensor, the shift in resistance the indicator of the temperature. Comparable to how many other sensors work. For example, an old school mercury thermometer doesn't measure temperature directly. The mercury expands or retracts according to the temperature, and the scale shows the current temperature based on how much the mercury has expanded or retracted.
