You mean they complain about everything? Let me shake my mod around while doing a little dance.. What's that? My button is making a rattle noise! Oh the humanity.

I know, its like they expect the rock of Gibraltar for 50.00 .

You can't even buy a carton of cigarettes for that much!

Just vape it!

I don't think I would have. In six months not only the firmware but the hardware itself will be possibly be outdated. Sure, some people have experienced it dropping out of TP (never happened to me), and if it's in power mode it probes a new coil with a 30 watt pulse (I haven't had a problem with it) and it doesn't play nice with my old subtank, but I am enjoying its looks, ergonomics, functionality, build quality and yeah, despite the small wick holes on the ego one mega tank, it's a great vape for a slow direct lung inhaler like me. So it's nice to save some money for the new technology down the road and still have a quality product. I think reviewers and some consumers are getting a wee too picky out there.

Most of the issues with the eVic don't bother me, or don't apply to my style of Vaping. But when I "lock" the resistance it would be nice if it remained locked!

Every little nit-picky issue with this devise could be fixed with a firmware update.

Job security. You'll have to buy the next version. Lol . I hope someone got a laugh out of my last post.

I just got titanium in, so I guess I'm in for a world of hurt trying temp control for the first time!

Then I can complain about the issues I have. I've only run the vt at 40w kanthal so far, so a its a pretty well performing range for the device.

BNEAT, you mean your VT unlocks the resistance all on its own?

Couldn't agree more. The perfect device...doesn't exist, especially at this price range. It's a great mod, with drawbacks like all the rest. Works perfectly for what I and most everyone else wants in a mod.

It did crack me up! I sure hope that for fifty bucks that Rock of Gibraltar comes with one of those little blue screwdrivers...there's a special prize when you collect ten...you get one free.

just recevied today the 2nd evic Vt (first one RMA) this one also have same problem , i screw in a tank with Ni coil 0.15ohm , box reads ambient temp ok (21c) you just need to clik 1x in fire button to chek the temp , fires Ok at 420F or 220c but if i dont use the Box for 10 minuts when i use it again the resistence changed to 0.12ohm and the ambient temp of the coil its 80c (dont go lower than that) and now i need around 280c to vape ok , the only solution its unscrew the RTA and screw again and the resistence reads again 0.15ohm ......

im tired , 2nd unit not good !

I totally agree. I'm enjoying this mod. It fits my vaping style, it works for kanthal, nickel and titanium and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Who could ask for more?

It doesn't "unlock" it changes the locked resistance

Yeah, we're not the first people having this issue

I'll ask for more! I didn't buy this because it was cheap, I bought it because of the name on the box. If it were twice as much I would've still clicked the "confirm order" icon.

When I bought my DNA40 VaporFlask I said I would never buy another TC devise that wasn't firmware-updatable...yeah, shinyitis got the better of me:facepalm:

It runs kanthal normally. No boost. It's only in temp mode that it does warm up at 30, then control to the set temp.

Not true. Try this in this order:
  1. start off with no atty on the mod
  2. Set mod to VW mode & 1 Watt
  3. screw in a normal Kenthal Atty
  4. Vape it for a couple seconds
Normally, 1 watt would produce no vapor. However, you will get vapor because the Mod is sensing a new coil and will do the "30 watt check" for the first second. Doesn't bother me, I actually consider it a feature of heating up a cold coil.

so not all the evics Vt have this problem??

so i need to send it back again?

best regards
Maybe, don't know about resistance changes, mine never does it. If i unscrew atomizer when hot and put it back on, it shows higher resistance, but jumps back to previously locked resistance when fired.
But..please lets not start that "ambient coil temperature" debate again!! Your mod does not read coil temperature, it calculates it, and as soon you apply some power to it, its not 20'C anymore!!

hmm i think i might know whats the problem , maybe its the 510 pin type (flat head) of the subtank and lemo v2 (atlantis , and so on) , im testing with mutationX RDA in Temp control and the resistence has not changed (yet) , i will test a few more hours and tell you later !

best regards

I think the true problem with the 30 watt pulse is when you build a high ohm coil and it hits it extremely hard and burns your wicking, or when your pulsing your coil on a build. It can get really really hot way too fast. 30 watts on a 1.8ohm coil can do some damage.
