Just needed better instructions for use. I haven't had any issues and have 2 eVics.
Never mind, people don't read instructions until it's to last.
mine did fine the first couple of times, now it just won't go back in; I'm about to tear it off. the new one looks better, like it snaps in without the little strap connecting it to the device, Such a little issue, but such a PITA!

I searched and searched instructions and can't find anything on the usb cover, could you tell me what you're referring to?
Well, my book has long since been stored. However the cover is really simple to use without damaging.
Gently lift out from bottom.(there is a groove) Rotate left or right to plug USB cable in. when finished, align cover and press in place.
Just did mine 5 times before posting this.
The problem people are having is not design. It is that they are pulling/forcing on the cover which stretches the soft plastic pin attaching the cover. once stretched, it acts as a spring and pushes out on the cover.

OK, thanks for the info. I don't recall stretching it. It has only fit back into place once since I've had it, but it is as if the plastic 'pin" is acting like spring, not allowing it to snap into place.
People must be using their teeth to take theirs off or something. lol. This is a complete non-issue with mine
For me it's like the tab thing was too long, and after being taken out to charge it, it pushes back and won't allow the top to snap in. Apparently it's happening with some, not all. I didn't strech it out. I popped it out from the bottom, moved it to the side, put in the usb, then had the problem when I went to put it back in. They're aware of it, I guess, they have a new one available.
Just remember - when they become available and if they are cheap, pick up a couple. No doubt some will eventually get lost.
I didn't have a problem with it it as far as fit. I just don't like them on anything. They just immediately annoy me for some reason. Have always ripped them off my cell phones in the past right whem I got them so this was the same in my mind.
I just got an evic yesterday and can see how people could stretch it. If the little anchor piece was made out of plastic that's a bit harder and a few mm longer, people probably wouldn't break them off.
The USB cover doesn't stretch, the problem is the strip that the cover is attached to - it's too long.
If the strip comes out too far, it's a swine to push the cover back in.
I used a blunt pin on the only occasion it happened to me, you have to feed the strip back into the head of the Evic and it will close again

You can use a pin to get a tiny bit of oil on it if you need to push it in. I flip batteries in a trustfire charger rather than use USB. I switch them out at 60%. You get great retention with lithiums doing this.
