Hey everyone. Just an observation / Question about flavors. I Ordered a 50%-50% sampler from Vaporbomb and I'm starting to learn what I am looking for in an ejuice. I first sampled the "Menthol" Flavor and it was compareable to a Disposable cart without the burnt taste. I tried a Maple and it was really not my taste. I filled 'er up with the cinnabomb and went insane for this juice. Now I'm trying the peach and it is different again. I need to know what is different about these two flavors that makes one taste sweet and flavorful and the other Smell good.

Taste - Cinnabomb - Mouthful of sugar, Cinnamon numb tounge like chewing BIG RED all day. Almost choking TH

Smell - Menthol / Peach - Not so much taste at all, more of a smell, really. Almost no TH.

If these pg/vg mixes all are the same, why such a difference in effect?

Their juice needs to steep. I think you'll like the peach after it does. If you like extra peach you can ask them for 2x the flaor next time, or they sell flavoring separately.

Yes, cinabomb is strong. That's for people that want the ultimate TH. I like the Fire n Ice. You get the cinabomb with cool artic ice on exhale.

The first time I ordered from them I felt the same- no taste. They told me to wait and it improved a lot. If after a week or so you still don't get much taste, contact them. They're very nice and will make sure you're happy.

Some flavorings are more aromatic and others produce more taste. At least half of taste is actually smell, anyway. Your tongue can taste sweet, salty, bitter, and sour. The rest is an olfactory gland result. As you vape more, you will notice that some days your sense of taste and smell varies. Drink a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated and you will retain your sense of taste and smell a little better.

As Swedishfish said, some juices need to be steeped for a week or two to let the flavors mix and mellow.

A lot of it depends on you. We can all post our experiences with the flavors you've listed and I can pretty much guarantee you that there'll be a huge range in perceptions. If you're still smoking, just quitting, been quit for a month, a year, whatever, your taste will completely different. And obviously, there are people out there who like broccoli, and I cannot STAND it, and those folks are gonna taste e-juices differently also. Everyone's tastes are different.

I happen to love the Orange de Sangre from Highbrow Vapors and the Minnesota Menthol and Caramelized Cappucino from Vermillion River. My hubby can't stand them and loves the Smoke from Backwoods Brew and the Gamel from Mountain Vapor. To each his own.

Maybe the taste bud that is in charge of sweetness has come back for you faster than the taste bud that is in charge of fruit?

Can I jump in here and ask about steeping? I've seen it mentioned, but no general guidelines. I've only been vaping a few days, and so I've just piled in there and tried all the flavours. Is there any general rule about what juices need steeping? And how do you "steep"? Is it dependent on light, or on leaving the cap off?

thanks!

You steep them by just letting them sit being left alone. Always store your liquid in a cool place and away from direct sunlight. Also, leave the caps on. Any juice will have more flavor as it steeps. Most juice I have had start to change at about two weeks but some can take longer. The longer the juice steeps the more the flavor is enhanced. The juice may also turn darker in color. This is not a bad thing. Most juice has a two year life span and most juice I purchase has a "born-on" date. I'm sure others will post their findings but this is my opinion to your question. Happy Vaping!!!!

Cinnamon has a skin and lung irritation all its own, separate from nicotine's hit. Cinnamon has more irritation than what menthol has.

And be careful - some have irritated their throat and lungs with cinnamon. I don't recommend going overboard on vaping it. Menthol can also be irritating if overdone.

Re taste and aroma in general - this is all the human tongue can taste
Sweet, salty, sour, bitter, umami (MSG) - and as well can feel burning irritation
Everything else is aroma, with food and with vapor (though food gets the added clues of image and texture)

A good peach vapor puts a suitable amount of sweet and sour on the tongue (mostly sweet for a ripe peach taste) and that is it for flavor. It is not peach until you smell it.
