I was a long time smoker and very much enjoyed it. This juice was the first one that I could really taste consistently. There is no "I think I may have tasted whatever that time." This one taste like the redhots with a cool mint feeling every time. It was the flavor and the vapor that did it for me. Once my taste buds recovered from smoking analogs I moved on to other flavors. I hope that helps.

@ nz1001,,,

I think you will find after your vaping for a bit it's more about your own personal flavor buds then what anyone else used to get off the analogs. Pretty much your going to get a gazillion different answers to this question. If I where you I would start out by ordering the smallest bottles of as many different flavored juices as you can, this will more than likely allow you to find what you really like without paying the price of 30ML Bottles, and more economical for you. Try a bunch of tobacco's, fruits, bakery, and desert type juices as you can, hopefully you will land on a few that you really like. Also make sure your vaping a high enough MG of Nic in your mixes so you absorb enough Nic so your not jonesing for a cigarette,,,, then you can gradually lower your Nic MG as time goes on. It's all about what works for YOU more so than anyone else, find your flavors and juice mix VG/PG ratios that work for YOU. I think that will help you more than anything else.

I used to smoke Misty Menthol Ultralight 100s until they got too expensive. Then it was Decade Menthol Silver - and I was so proud for saving that $15 per carton! Smoked for more than 25 years. 2+ packs a day. Absolutely loved it - everything about it - so much that I would go outside in the rain, lightning, snow, subzero temps to get my fix. Never really wanted to quit. I received my first kit on July 13, 2011 - KR808D-1 from CigEasy and some WOW peppermint cartos from V4L - 6mg - (strangely enough I was afraid of getting too much nicotine!). THAT WAS THE LAST DAY I EVER SMOKED A CIGARETTE. As fate would have it, due to a strange series of events, 8 days later I was vaping 0-nic and I have been happily smoke free and nicotine free for almost 11 months.

Welcome to the forums nz and best of luck on your new journey to becoming smoke free!!

it was the disposable Njoy menthols from 7-11 that got me started... then 510 starter menthol kit from aquavapor kept it going... now my Vtube from apollo and the amazing strawberry ice from altcig has really kept me off the smokes.

i was a pack a day camel menthol silver (i still love to crush the little menthol ball) and saw the disposable ones and gave them a shot... tried about 4 different disposable ones before doing online research and found this forum.

also... got 2 other people to give up the cancer sticks :)

My fav analogs were Marlboro Menthol Light 100's or Ultralight 100's. I started off with Smoketip 808s and I liked their menthol cartos best. A couple months or so in I almost quit the e-cig out of some frustration I was having (well actually I DID, but very briefly), but came back. My first major fav e-juice was introduced to me by my Aunt, Solstice from Johnson Creek. It's watermelon, honeydew and mint. I discovered some better 808s from Smokeless Image and Vapor4life. Since then I have gotten a few mods too, tried MANY different juices from different companies, and now sometimes drip and use tanks too. I'm going on a year. Oh, I started out at 16 mg nic level. Then had several juices at 18. Right now I am mostly at 12 but recently got some 6 mg juice and am purchasing some 0 mg soon too, cutting down.

Never tried WTA. Don't typically use juice that is more than 50% vg.

In the beginning it was all about the menthol. I liked other flavors on the side too BUT had to have a good menthol flavor. Now the only menthol I vape is if it's a menthol mix, like menthol and apple. For several months I didn't vape menthol mixes but just recently been getting into that right now. But not really vaping straight menthol flavors anymore. My fav flavors tend to be fruit or dessert flavors now.

PAD of Camel Menthol Wide Lights. Local guy that runs Vapors Heaven. Contacted him via email because his mailing address was close. He took the "Camel" juice he sold and mixed in some menthol. 18mg in strength. It ended up being more mint than menthol. But I liked it. I had switched to Marlboro Smooth for awhile, which is more of a mint anyways, and was reminded of that. Got a good feeling from it and didn't feel any need to grab another wide. It probably helped that the 808D that I started with, the carto is about as thick as a Camel Wide. The "lip feel" was almost exact. I have since moved on to many other flavors. But I vaped 15ml of that Camel Menthol in just over a week and bought a 30ml bottle. I've still got about 1/4th of that bottle left. I've moved on to a lot of different flavors since. I opened the bottle and smelled the other day. Still smells good. Might load up a tank with it soon and just see what I think of the flavor now.

I've got to find a good Camel Menthol to help a friend make the switch. He smokes full flavor tho, so it's gotta have a good strong flavor, but going to let him try this stuff at first, since I know we can still get it locally.

Started smoking Marlboro Light 100's 15 years ago, then went to Marlboro Menthol Light 100's for a couple of years, then back to Marlboro Light 100's again, then finally on to Pall Mall Light 100's for the last 9 years. First 5 years was 3 pad, next 5 years was 2 pad, and the last 5 years was 1 pad. I loved smoking. I loved holding a cigarette, problem solving in the "smoke pit" at work, taking a drag and taking a drink of a cold beer. I couldn;t wait to finish a meal, so I could have a fresh smoke. I loved everything about smoking...except the effects it had on my rapidly diminishing health.

Over the past three years, I tried e-cigs a few times, but I wasn't ready to quit my Pall Malls. About 2 months ago, I woke up one day tired of feeling like hammered s***, so I started taking Chantix for the 3rd go round, and quit smoking all together after a couple of weeks. Four days after quitting, the urge was creeping back up, but my desires to continue feeling better was greater. So, I went to a local convenience store, and picked up a Mistic e-cig (18mg menthol, because I already knew the tobacco flavor was not for me). I figured between that and my own desire to quit would do the trick. Within 2 more weeks, I ordered a couple of Volt X2's and other various parts, also ordered some Boge low resistance cartomizers, and also ordered supplies to start mixing my own e-liquid. I now mix all my liquid at 12mg, and over time plan to drop it down to about 8mg. Good equipment and the wide variety of flavors I mix is the thing that keeps me away from regular cigarettes. I'm still at the point to which if anything fails me, it could lead to my relapsing. So I always make sure to keep batteries charged and plenty of liquid on hand to make sure nothing turns me the other way. I imagine after another month or two, vaping will be like 2nd nature to me...and cigarettes will be a thing of the distant past.

Good luck to you...and you'll find that this forum is chocked full of supportive people.

@ nz1001,,,

I think you will find after your vaping for a bit it's more about your own personal flavor buds then what anyone else used to get off the analogs. Pretty much your going to get a gazillion different answers to this question.

Well, since the op already ordered a kit, I think this is more of a conversation starter, which will lead to "a gazillion different answers", like many other threads.

To answer your question: I smoked Blue American Spirits from about 1 PAD to 1.5 PAD (really depended on finances). I initially stopped smoking with The Safe Cig, but that didn't last but for a couple months. After vaping and smoking on and off for maybe a year or so, I got a Smokeless Image kit and then the hunt was on.

I quickly got over the desire to have a glowing light at the end of the battery and started looking more into the PVs performance. That search was long and exhausting, but the Volt from SI, made it possible to take without having my trusty blue box of Spirits. The flavors from SI left me wanting and I was having a hard time until I tried their RY4. After that, I knew the sky was the limit and started going through that stuff like mad until I landed here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...views/193327-really-big-ry4-roundup-long.html. After vaping and reading up on as much as I could, I started corresponding with Pbusardo (tasteyourjuice.com) and he mentored me for a couple months before I actually stared posting here. He was really great and never the slightest bit condescending.

So, the journey that you're on is going to seem exciting, unbearable, exhilarating, frustrating, rewarding, impossible, then back to exciting. However, this forum is the ultimate resource and almost all of the time you will get your questions actually answered in a timely fashion. Good job on getting a kit, and know that a world of possibilities is at your disposal.

p.s. That thread I linked is "a gazillion different answers" about a particular flavor (not a single juice), but, it sure makes for a good and informative read while vaping.

Great stories. I feel a bit touched, lol. The caring minds are shown in the details… :)

Alright, 6 out of 8 struggling but successful experiences came from menthol smokers, and even more menthol e-juices had been involved delivering the strikeout. This inspires me to plan switching to Marlboro menthol, and at the same time testing and getting used to vaping. I had used menthol during summer in the past. Even the timing seems good.

So I ordered some more 24mg tobacco juices and menthol concentrate, total ~20 from 3 vendors.

I think I got the 510 kit covered, most had been shipped out today – 4 attys, drip tips and sheild, 20 Boge XXL carotos, 2 provares, 3 phinias tanks, tank tools and punch, syringes and tips, batteries and chargers, and few extra accessories.

No doubt this forum is the ultimate resource, and my best chance to stop smoking.

More stories, :vapor: please

I never even intended to quit -- just wanted a substitute for when I was in other people's houses. :)

That said, the two juices that literally seduced me away from my beloved Camel Turkish Silvers (35+ years, 1.5 ppd smoker) were Vapor4Life's RY4 and Vanilla Mocha Frappe.

Now (17 months later) I find them just OK, but -- they will always hold a special place in my heart. I started at 8mg (too low), would now get in 11 or 18mg; the base ratio is about 85/15 pg/vg.

Good luck! :)

I smoked about 1/2 PAD for 15 years, either Camel Lights, Camel Turkish Silvers, or Marlboro Ultralights. I was intrigued by a friend's 510 a few years ago and bought one, but I didn't really like cartos, the juice vendor I was buying from was hit or miss, and I would typically vape in between smoke breaks (it's a wonder I didn't ingest lethal amounts of nicotine) or when I was in situations where I couldn't smoke. I bought an eGo-C last February and an order of Backwoods Brew's 555 Exotic, Applewood, Cherry Tobacco, and Virginia at 18 mg. I set a date, and quit a couple of weeks later without looking back. It really was the right device/flavor combination that made it possible. You may suffer a setback or a speed-bump now and then, but it's all about finding what works best for you. Best of luck!

I ordered a bunch of bad juice from madvapes. I went through pipe and rootbeer with mint added in the first few days. Shortly after to a cinnamon flavor. MInt, cinnamon & lime all have a tingle to them when you inhale them. It makes a nice substitute imo. I'm sure other flavors do the same thing but I don't know them.

Winston Lights 100's for 20 years -> Virginia from Backwoods Brew, 18mg, 70pg/30vg

BWB Virginia was the first juice that I had that I could substitute in place of analogs. It was the first juice that gave me the same satisfaction as analogs would after a meal, with my morning coffee, with a few beers, etc.

I wouldn't suggest switching to menthol cigarettes if you're going to vape a menthol juice. Most people that smoked menthol cigarettes can't stand vaping menthol juice....because they're not the same. If you get used to smoking menthol analogs, chances are you too won't like to vape menthol.

Just some food for thought...

If you're looking for some juice that might help you get over the hump, Vapenstein, a guy who really knows his stuff, has been compiling a list of juices called the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes. These juices are intended to deliver the same type of satisfaction you get from smoking or have some similar qualities.

Cinnamon Red Hots 16mg from a local vendor here in St. Louis. Tastes just like the candy. I agree that cinnamon seems to have a throat hit that helps replace the analogs.

I was about a pack a day smoker, Kool 100's for years then Winston shorts for the last couple. When I started vaping, I was able to switch over completely from analogs instantly. But then I ran into some trouble with my cigarette look-a-like (not even sure what it was), got frustrated, and went back to smoking for a few months. It just wasn't the same, though. So I was determined to quit for good this time, and I found this forum. I invested in an eGo type device this time and couldn't be happier. I've had no real problems since switching to a kGo and a tank system. I love it!

Good Luck and Congrats!
