Hello i got a eGo ONE mini the other day. Its my first vape pen ever.
I noticed smoke coming out of the air shafts after a hit, and was wondering is that normal?

By air shafts you probably mean the air holes, right? Like the little slits on the side of the tank?

If so, then yes, that's normal. It's the residual vapor escaping through the airholes. If you inhale a little longer you'll be able to avoid that, but it's not an issue. Vape on.

Like wisps of vapor? That's pretty normal. If you continue to inhale for a second or two after you let go of the button, you shouldn't see that anymore. It doesn't really hurt anything, but sometimes it condenses and you get droplets of liquid.

Yes the air slits that can be adjusted for more or less airflow.. Thank you guys for the answers

How often do you change or recomend to change the 1.0 ohm coil?

It will depend a lot on how often you vape, and what types of liquids you use. Darker and/or sweeter liquids tend to gunk up coils faster. I don't use pre-built coil heads so I can't give you actual timeframes, but generally you'll notice a decrease in performance/vapor output.

That will vary for everyone depending on how much juice you go through in a day, how dark/clear that juice is, even nicotine level effects the "gunking" that will happen over time and causes coils to need replacing.

I'd say 2-4 weeks would be a pretty standard coil lifespan for the Ego One assuming it's your daily driver and you're going through about 1-2 tanks a day. That's about the standard for most pre-built coil heads, actually. With higher wattage usually the lifespan decreases rather exponentially.

It all depends on how often you use it, and how picky you are about swapping to a new flavor ;) and/or how sugary/sweet the juice is (as it "gunks" the coil faster)

If your not changing flavors constantly, in my opinion, the coil should last a good 100-130mls of juice worth before replacement.

Thanks man, well let me get into a bigger question :)

I will buy me some CLR's and im wondering what thickness of the nickel wire should be for 1.0 ohm CLR's ?
You won't get 1.0Ω coils in Ni wire until it's as big as a bracelet. Ni has very little resistance and is intended for Temp Control applications only.

So Ni is intended for 0.5 ohm? Any sugestion on what type of wire to use and how many spins what thickness and all that if i want to make a good 1.0 ohm coil?
It's not easy to get even .5Ω with nickel wire; they're usually .2 or lower. Kanthal A1 is the most common wire choice for wattage mode vaping, although there are other choices. How much and what size I can not immediately answer for you. It depends on what you're putting the coil in, and how much room you have, etc. Here's a good calculator, called Steam Engine. When you know the sizes, etc, you can put them in and play with the wire size and types to see how many wraps on how big a mandrel will give you the right resistance. That's how I do it.

Hmm thanks for the sites but im really not into this kind of stuff so i will have to take my time and look throu the site :). I will buy a ego one CLR coil, so if you know those coils then thats the size it will be.

Ok. I don't know that machine, so you'll have to get somebody else to tell you how big and so forth. Suggest you post another thread with something like "how to build an eGo One CLR RBA?" as the title.
