Maybe for the most highend units. The eGo I use is inexpensive enough that is rather not pay to insure it, I'll just replace parts as needed. Maybe check with your homeowners insurance to see if they'll cover it, most will cover cellphones.
It's not a bad idea, but just wouldn't work out in the real world. Cellphone Companies are huge, and there are many other factors that gives them the ability to offer insurance. The charge people monthly and add an additional fee for that option. Not to mention that it cost money to use you insurance, like a $60 replacement fee.
Except for mods, they are just resellers. I wouldn't buy from a supplier that didn't offer some type of warranty. Most are about two months which is fair for that price point.
