Next thing will be its ok to let a big fat stinky one "rip" in an elevator because no one said no.

As long as you can pull it off stealthy I see no problem with it. But if you are not stealthy and just blowing it out in the open is just plain rude......This go's for vaping as well.

I think it's terribly rude to vape in a theatre/theater/arena/auditorium/lecture-hall/etc.

In the case of movies...it actually interacts with the projection of the picture and diminishes the quality/resolution of the show!

Any place where people are packed in...each and every one deserves respect, courtesy, and some 'space'.

Even when 'smoking' was in full vogue and not banned anywhere...it was RUDE to puff away in a show or production where everyone in the place paid the same or more as you to be there. Lawyers weren't quite as powerful then...and you were likely to get a good beat down by a fellow citizen for acting like that!

We all know it's 'not gonna hurt anyone', but still...

We all know we share air...but typically we don't SEE the bad breath of strangers swirling around a room in twists, rings, and funky clouds.

Wait for intermission and take it to the lobby/wings and put some SPACE between yourself and others...put a few drops of ejuice in your soda..whatever...but be considerate.
It is distraction...psychologically nauseating to many.

It's just as bad as the jerk who gets a front row seat and REFUSES to SIT DOWN...EVER...through an entire ball game...forcing everyone up the deck to stand for 3 hours if they want to see a single play. One fellah still refused to sit down despite people behind him being 80+ years old and needing canes and walkers to get about.

If you hate being considerate of other people...please invest in a personal Hi-Fi/High-Def home theater and stay home.

Ever hear the phrase, "people who live in glass houses..."?
Even if you are at 0mg you really have no room to talk about someone else's addiction just because they're more addicted than you are. You may as well go the rest of the way and join the ANTZ if that's how you think.

Yes, I have. They shouldn't throw stones. I am not at zero mg. I am around 8-11 mgs. I can go a whole 1.5 hrs without vaping. When I smoked I moved away from those that do not smoke out of respect for them. I actually care about my fellow human being even if they do not agree with me, hence common courtesy.. Do you need the definition? Let me google that for you

That wasn't my point if you would take a reading comprehension class you would know that.

Maybe I should join ANTZ. Maybe they have a clue.

That brings up a question for me.

I haven't dropped my nicotine level like some do as they move into RDA/RBA/Duals, I puff less.
I keep my dual coil RBA for times when I don't want to sit down and vape, and a puff or two will do me good (sometimes too good). But at my sister's (non-smoker) I try to go light and because of that I pretty much chain vape to keep my nicotine flowing.

So which is better, a couple of massive clouds or a constant small cloud? Both could be blown in respectful places. Coils do make noise.

personal Hi-Fi/High-Def home theater and stay home.

That's why I'm amazed movie theaters haven't gone the way of the drive-in.

I tested very high in reading comprehension, but thanks anyway.

You're the one who is addicted and going on about someone else having a "serious addiction problem". You know who else probably has minor addictions to things like caffeine and throws stones at us for having minor addictions to nicotine?

I can probably go 1.5 hours. I can't say I set out to intentionally try that because I have a medical need, but I think I can, I do it most nights while asleep (if I can't I'll be in pain for a lot longer than a couple hours).
I don't know about other people with medical needs. Do you really want a mild schizophrenic going without their drug? That's probably the guy people are calling rude for all the other things like standing up and talking loud. ADHD people are probably going to have trouble sitting through a movie without something. A lot of people are self medicating with smoking/nicotine.
You don't know other people's stories and shouldn't throw stones when you are an addict yourself (you shouldn't throw stones no matter what but it's worse when the stones being thrown can just as easily land on you).

Yes I am addicted to nicotine thank to smoking I started at 20ish. Yes, I am addicted to chocolate too. Please tell me where I stated I wasn't addicted. I can control it though as I stated.. If you can't you are in trouble.

Oh yes, I have ADD too. I can tell it coming back on since I quit smoking. I don't care if you have a medical need or a letter from the President. It is still rude and common courtesy should prevail.

So the rest of the world should put up with your problems since you have a medical need??? selfish much?

where are you that has so many vapers vaping so incessantly as to make watching the film impossible?? I hardly see vapers period outside let alone several "going wild" in a theatre

The nearest and only theaters are in Prescott, Arizona......just another cow town out here in Arizona, LOL!

I just don’t see vaping in Theaters to be a Big Problem.

Because no matter what Anyone says here, Someone is going to Blow Huge Plumes inside a movie and Someone is going to get bent and complain to the management.

Which will lead to City/State bans of e-Cigarette use in Non-Smoking areas. It’s kinda Inevitable. And more a question of “When” and not “If”.

I would like to see and end to the practice of the continued repetition of urban legend/myth of the ban-causing militant vaper. (aka BCMV)

I have repeatedly asked for documentation, pictures, video, etc. throughout this thread of this elusive creature. Many people who disdain public vaping are here taking the usual shots at the practice, and I respect that right to speak their minds and I respect their decisions. We all must make our own decision for ourselves of when to vape, and when not to. What I cannot stomach, is the repetition of this canard when there is zero documentation to substantiate this absurd fantasy. I interpret this myth creation of the BCMV as some sort of guilt/manipulation tactic with no basis in fact. I am not going to let it go unchallenged.

Someone prove me wrong, if you can...I am prepared to be proven wrong. It certainly won't be the first time!

The ban-causing militant vaper doesn't exist! The tooth fairy, the Unicorn, and the honest politician are the equivalent of the ban-causing militant vaper.

I read here many times a week about ban X because guy X was running around "blowing clouds of vapor in people's faces". I am not denying militant vapers exist (but I do think they are very rare). I am not denying bans happen. I challenge the causality between the two.

I am challenging the purveyors of this tale: give concrete evidence that a militant vapor X caused ban X. Continuing to represent that as a factual sequence of events (without citations) will be challenged by me every time I see it.

Expect it!

Sir Eddard......I will gladly cough up the $10 (+ godknows how much more to bribe him) to go to said theater and grab a pic on his phone!:)
These are multi screen theaters that sit maybe 100-150 per screen, take into consideration that it is a college town (Prescott College, known for hairy armpits, dread locks, save water-don't take a shower, Yavapai Com. College, aka rope 'em, ride 'em, and put a set of shoes on that critter, and Embry Riddle, aka fly that DC-10 as low to the houses with out hitting 'em). When the Granite Mountain Hotshots died, about the only activity going on was all the news media people, the whole area just shut down. In all seriousness, when the Prescott Rodeo happens the first week in July, the size of the "Tri-Cities" (HA, HA!) doubles in size!

Didn't want to spark anything with this post, gang, just wanted to get some feed back:ohmy: It comes down to the legal right with or without mindful consideration in this particular situation and just wanted to know how this community saw it. That's all, I personally have satelite, DTV, Netflix, and Hulu, and driving 40 minutes to watch a flick just doesn't do it for me, I'd rather pick the wings off flies.

If I DID find myself in that situation, I would either abstain, sit in the very back, or get a large drink (tnx, Iffy!), but it would be very hard for me to justify messing with someone's evening, probably at the cost of $20 a head, just to get my nic fix. Just my opinion and :2c:

Same DTV, Netflix, Hulu, Blockbuster, Amazon, and some other thing my daughter talked me into. I have a 60 inch plasma in my basement that we watch our movies on. I get my cup of hot cocoa a blanket they stretch out with a puppy on each side. I don;t have to worry what the dude was doing in the seat before I sat down. I don't pay 40 bucks for sodas and popcorn.. I have my own popcorn maker next to the TV. The kids love it.

If you are wondering, no I do not vape. If I feel the need I will go upstairs and outside to have a vape, out of respect for my family. They do not like it when I vape near them.

Last week, I blew a HUGE cloud of vape directly into someone's face. A stranger's face. Because the ......... asked for it. I was walking with my wife and son through the mall, and the eager but idiotic salesman for a e-cig kiosk blew vape from a cig-alike into the faces of passer-byers with a sales pitch of "It's just vapor bro, not real smoke. Try one" Yeah... Not the best pitch in the world.

So when I was walking by, he blew in my face. I took out my mech with my Nimbus and a dragon coil. Took a HUGE hit, and blew it all in his face. He wasn't happy with that. I told him to keep the good work if he wants to end up getting punched in the face in the near future.

These Kiosk guys (all of them in general) need to get punched in the face.

Ah, but I acknowledge those militants exist (this guy was more of an idiot than a militant), but....

...did he cause a ban??

I am afraid this does not quite qualify for my challenge.

Great story though.

Nowhere have I said anything but to be respectful.
But respect is a two way street which you don't seem to understand.

I'm sorry you feel put out because someone in a wheelchair takes up isle space but we do make exceptions for medical needs. At least for everything but nicotine use - especially when it looks like smoke (my state tried to pass nicotine employment bans the same year they passed medical mj and excepted it from employment discrimination, same disease classification).

I agree.. I am against smoking bans and vaping bans. I am all for the business itself to do as it sees fit. Then us, the consumers, can choose if we wish to be a patron.

I do not vape in public places, theaters and restaurants, etc., simply out of respect. As I have said before, the general public is not aware of vaping or it's repercussions (or lack, thereof) so I simply don't vape unless I am at a vape-friendly bar, work, or home. The other day I was vaping in my car and the lady in the car next to me looked at me like I was doing something illegal. I have accepted that outside of the vaping community, there is little information (or misinformation) about vaping, so I simply respect those who do not vape.

Really appreciate the comments. My son thinks I'm in this radical Vaping Organization, bawahahahaha! With my nose ring and tattoos, you can kind of understand where he thinks I'm very unconventional!
But, I always asked him if I could "smoke" when I was around him in his own place and vehicle, and it's just been habit to ask the same when I vape around him.

BTW: He mentioned someone was definitely vaping "bacon" in that group.

 Now, vaping bacon should definitely never be done in public . . . sick0007.gif
