I just received my KR808D-1 from Cigeasy.com and love it so far! I chose the Camel Desert Ship 24mg for my first pre-filled cartos and Cigeasy threw in an extra Caramel-Mocha carto and it is awesome! I also just ordered a few e-liquids from goodejuice.com that are still on the way (Kryptonite, Commercial tobacco, Honeywood tobacco, ICE Cold Menthol).

Just a couple of questions for you guys/gals. How long do cartos usually last and are there any well known places that everyone gets their new blank cartos from? Also im thinking about buying another e-cigarette for my father and was wondering what another popular e-cig is. Ive heard a lot about the Riva 510, whats the major differences between it and the KR808D-1.

First off, congrats are starting your e-smoking journey.

I would recommend getting an eGo battery or pass-through and use Low Resistance Boge cartomizers with it, you can get both of those items at madvapes.com or liberty-flights.com. You will get loads of vapor and flavor with the LR Boge cartomizers.

As for the difference between the 808 and the Riva, the main one is battery life. The Riva has a bigger battery and will last several hours longer. Personally, cartomizers last about 2 weeks or longer for me, you can also clean them, go on youtube and type in "cleaning cartomizers" for informative videos.

Welcome, cjones.

KR808D-1 and 510 are similar. Both are very popular. The Riva battery is just one version of a 510 battery. the Riva battery is larger which will make it last longer between charges, but feel more like a cigar in your hand. You can even buy little adapters to use 808 catos on 510 batteries or vice versa. You will figure out which batteries and which cartos you like. Cartos need to be refilled pretty frequently. Many people will fill 2-6 to take to work for the whole day and then refill them when they get home. Blank cartos can be found at many of the trusted vendor sites here on ECF. If you find that you love your model and want to order cartos in bulk, then you can order them directly from China for about $1/carto. Most 5 packs range from $5-$11 from US suppliers.
Anyway, I'm glad you like your new PV (personal vaporizer) and I hope you learn to love vaping as much as the rest of us.

Thanks for the responses! I was just looking at Liberty-Flights, and saw where the Kr808d-1 cartos are compatible with the 901? If this is so whats the major difference between the 901 and 510 because it'd be nice to interchange the cartos

Mostly the threads. Adapters are available.

Congrats on your new ecig and welcome to the ECF! How long each carto lasts between fillings really depends on how much you vape, but like Religion says, most people will need to either refill or swap cartos more than a few times per day. I usually just pull the cap or drip tip off of mine and drip directly on the filler. A dry carto will hold ~25 drops, but as they age, they absorb less liquid when they need filled. I usually notice that after a week or so it's time to clean or replace.

The primary differences between the Riva and KR808 are the extended battery life on the Riva and KR808 vs. 510 fittings. With the Riva, the standard kit will come with atomizers rather than cartomizers, but you can get cartos for the 510 fitting like those on the KR808. Many people do prefer the flavor of the KR808s.
