My husband and I just bought the Cig2o at a local tobacco shop. We are both having trouble with the flavor and I cough every time I try to inhale. Right now I'm just frustrated, because I really need to find a way to quit smoking. We both love to smoke, but know we need to quit for health reasons. Any one out there have any help or information for us.

Pictures are too small for me to tell what type it is, but a quick search on the forums and it looks like they are KR808D-1 models. Vapor4Life sells compatible parts. Your problem is most likely the fact that pre-filled carts are generally disgusting juice. That model is one of the main ones that are favored by our members, so getting advice and assistance here shouldn't be too much of a problem. If you google how to refill a KR808D-1 cartomizer you should find some good videos. But some empty ones from Vapor4Life (or another place that sells the same parts), and juice in a flavor you think you'll like (many good options out there) and give it another go. You can also get spare batteries and other parts when you need to, without paying outrageous costs.

Here's a few threads about them:

and a review, including suggestions for juice:

Good luck, and let us know if there's anything else you want to know about!

Looking like a KR808D-1 does not mean it is a KR808D-1
It could be a KR808D-2 aka E9 which has incompatible threading

re coughing - everybody coughs in the beginning because it seems odd/foreign to inhale the vapor. But you also may have gotten too high nicotine. Also both KR8 models are 3.7v batteries and give warm hits which increases TH. And some flavors give more TH than others.

What strength cigarettes did each of you smoke and what level nicotine did you get?

I started with a cig2o kit in July last year, and very quickly moved to the 510. The industry has moved forward a lot and I can tell you from experience that you'll have a much better chance of finding something you like with the newer products. The kits that get recommended a lot here are the Joye eGo and it's Riva clone. Liberty Flights has good prices on both.

they are kr808d-1 threads i baught some cig2o cartos from a local smoke shop awhile back when i first started vaping because i didn't want to wait on shipping and they fit great. litecig has good prices on blank cartos or vapor4life if you want prefilled, also bloog maxx fusion cartos are supposed to be really good havent tried em yet though
and ya you can refill the ones you have but the pastic cap on the mouth peice is glued in so put some hot water in a tupawear container and hold the cartos in there for a little while just deep enough for the cap to be in so it doesnt get the filler wet then get something hard to pry it out with from the middle, there kind of a pain but i did it with the ones i have and after the first time they come off allot easier

Thanks Valsacar

canlin - Your "name" brand may use cartomizers with hard or glued on end caps. Soft caps come out easily to add juice. Hard and glued on caps are hard to get out. On my KR808D-1 I use Vapor4Life prefilled and blank cartomizers and they are soft-caps. I keep the carto damp with juice so I don't singe it and ruin the flavor. I can get 4-7 days use out of each. The flavor and vapor can degrade as you reuse them. Cartomizers are meant to be disposable - we are just squeezing extra use out of them. Some people can successfully clean, dry and reuse them for longer periods but many can't do that successfully and many don't care to bother.

Take a carto you have finished and use an unbent paperclip leg through the mouth hole and try to carefully lift the cap. Take care not to catch stuffing or the wire loop. If it is hard to budge the cap then try in a different direction. There usually is a small hard loop of wire near the center of many cartos and you don't want to hook or damage that. If you destroy the cap getting it off, a plastic or delrin KR808D-1 or 510/901 drip tip can be be instead of the cap. Once you get the cap off, some cartos (the kind I don't like) have an inner donut-shape seal you need to remove to add juice. And if the caps don't come out easily I recommend you get your cartos elsewhere like Vapor4Life prefills or blanks if you want to refill them.

Warning though - you probably have automatic batteries. If you are going to refill cartomizers I recommend you buy a spare battery. It is much easier to damage or kill an automatic (drag-triggered) battery with leaking juice from a cartomizer. Prefilled cartos are often not well filled so they rarely leak. When you add juice to cartos yourself then you can get leaks. You can get a mnaul KR808D-1 battery at LiteCigUS.net for $10 and under $3 shipping. Manual KR808D-1 batteries still have a hole in the threaded end but at least they are not dependent on a drag sensor right inside the hole.

Also always wipe off the end and threads of your battery before putting it in your charger or PCC.

I purchased the Cig2O from the local shop, and to honest, I have been very pleased with the results. After reading through and studying the information here, I believe they have upgraded their carts. I am using the 18mg Tobaccco carts. Experimenting with an empty one, the cap pops out easily, and should be good for refilling. The batteries are a little different, as best I can tell. Vapor4Life carts do NOT work well with Cig2O batteries. The vapor and flavor was very inconsistent. After discussing the issues with V4L, they said that their carts are NOT 100% compatible. (I was told they WERE 100% compatible when I talked to them prior to buying). Also, the V4L carts taste very sweet, and resemble burnt caramel. I didn't like them at all.

I will say that the recharge case from V4L works great. I keep 2 carts and a spare battery in it, keeps it charged and ready to go. I was able to swap batteries in and out about 4 times before the case battery needed recharging. It wasn't the 8 times they advertise, but was still well worth it to me.

Right now, I'm looking for the factor Cig2O juice so I can refill. If anyone knows a good place to get this, I'd love to know.

Happy vaping!

Wanted to update this, because of my comments on Vapor4Life carts. They sent me a battery for free, because I was having problems with their carts. Believe it or not, their battery DID make a difference. Their carts taste much better with their battery. Don't know if the same is true with all other batteries, but there is definitely a difference between the Cig2O battery and the V4L. Using the WowBacco flavor currently, 18mg. I'm liking it. Still have my Cig2O's but use them exclusively with Cig2O carts now.
