Ok you got me tinkering :D

All I had was 32gauge Kanthol
and sylica wick.

So I wrapped it on the tip of my juice needle.
Seemed pretty tinny.

About 7 wraps I checked it on Provari. 2ohms.
Heck yeah!!! :D

Now getting the sylica in that hole. Oh boy. Not easy.
Got her up n running. vaping at 4volts.
Felt a bit dry so I cut a piece of sylica
and placed it behind the coil under the legs.

Boom!!! Clouds!!! Flavor!!!

I am very impressed. Ordering larger gauge wire tomorrow. :D
Thanks for this post. It got me excited to try this out.

vape Proud n Blow Clouds!!!

Eric, that is really a great idea. You don't have to remake the coil, just replace the wick. Nice.

I re-coil all my ProTank coils now as well. I use 2.5 Silica Wick and 32 gauge kanthol. With 6 wraps I get around 2.4 ohms. I do use another piece of silica wick on the top of the coil and it works awesome. I just let it sit right side up for a few minutes to insure the wick gets wet. Put it on and I get really awesome taste and vapor.

Just not sure why the wicks burn so quickly. After about 2 days or so the flavor starts to taste burnt, and I can tell my juice is getting darker. Oh well.. Small price to pay :)

Aglet, do NOT let your coils touch. They need to be evenly spaced WITHOUT touching each other.

Micro coils do need to touch thats what and why it mimics sub ohm setups, as it allows greater wick coverage by lowering ohms across greater continuity. If they do not touch you just made a small diameter coil, while better coverage than normal coiling it still is not a micro coil.. The wrap must be tight, touching, and properly fed. It takes improvisation learning how to feed it.

i am still waiting for the first microcoil user that has not changed the wick at least once in 2 days.

T

This wick lasted me four days and the only reason I changed it was to show a buddy how easy it was.

30awg Kanthal, 10 wraps, 1.5 ohms on a Reo Grand.

This guy!

I wrap cartos ss mesh hybrids micro, they are amazing, maybe last a whole year idk one has been going for 3 months now..
clean dryburn vape..

The cotton wickers change their wicks a lot because the enjoy doing so.

To the OP yes if it glows from center out you have built a badarse coil..

mine fire all at once, coil red, legs dark, I use doubled r legs or nr/r legs. I usually never coil leg single wire..

Cotton tends to get gunky after a few tanks through the Protank.

Happy Saturday :D

So..... I'm gonna go grab some cotton.
I read Walgreens organic cotton?

I don't know how old those posts where.
Anyone point me to the best cotton to use?

Thnx in advance.

It should say 100% natural/organic cotton, you will not have to boil it. You can also try Peaches 'N Cream 100% cotton yarn or Bamboo, the only thing is you have to boil those.

I'm guessing the reason for your dry hits is that wrapping a micro around silica people (myself included) tend to pinch into the wick not allowing the juice to flow as well. With cotton just remember to keep it a little lose because cotton will swell when it gets saturated. May have a little bit of a breaking but once it does the flavor is great.

I finally got a cotton to work when I rinsed/ soaked in hot water for a minute squeezed and dipped a few times and unwrapped it and rolled a wick while it was wet that matched my coil size. It slid right in easily with slight twisting. Expanded to fit perfectly after a minute of juice soaking.

The problems I had before was 1-that I didn't wash the cotton ball. 2- made the wick while it was dry, so it was too loose and would burn quickly.

Cool, that's the conclusion I came to - I was wondering how there was enough room for a 9 wrap microcoil if they can't touch. Thanks for the info, going to try one out...
