Hi everyone! New to the whole e liquid/refillable setup. Been using vip cartomizers and done great with a slight hitch for few month when I went back to analogues. Was enjoying my vip menthol 2.4 cartomizers but was costing too much, so decided to try this way. So 3 days ago I bought a ego t kit with ce4 clearomiser things. I like it but having problem with batteries not charging and not lasting long at all! Also the liquid seems to leak from the top and the Middle where it joins! Please help a newbie to this game!!

Thanks guys x

When I ran the ce style clearo's I liked the "rebuildable" kind with the replacement heads that can be rebuilt fairly easily. There are so many better options these days though. I recommend something cheap that takes an 18650 battery like a couple of VAMO's from fasttech if your ego batts are crapping out....keep the ego's as backup for your backups....Hi and welcome BTW.

HI Allison... are you UK?

Yes, VIP cartomisers are a very unsatisfactory and colossally expensive way to vape. VIP also sell a 'photon' kit but that's a piece of junk too.

If you now have an eGo battery and are happy to refill, your journey to cheaper and better vaping can begin.

(just not with a CE4 in all honesty)......

:)

Have a look on here at some of the other (better) tanks you can buy/try.

Clearomizers

b.t.w. if you like cartomisers, you can buy empty ones and fill them yourself. They don't leak (not at all, really) but they do require filling more often. I used these solidly after wasting huge amounts of money on E-Lites. (£3.99 per cartomiser!!)

Welcome Allison!

Unfortunately, CE4-type clearos are on the very low end and can be quite fussy. You can get them to work, but it takes a little experimenting (each unit can be a bit different). It would likely be worth your while to upgrade to a BCC (Bottom Coil Clearomizer), as they have a better track record. For an eGo-T, I suggest an EVOD or something similar (slimmer ones, the same diameter as an eGo). I have linked to a glass model. With a glass tank body you don't have to be concerned about what type of juice you use (plastic tubes can degrade when using citrus, cola, cinnamon, banana and other "tank cracking" flavors).

Kanger Evod Glass

Tank cracking: EEEKKK! What happened to my tank?

Note: Your battery does not have the power to run an Atlantis.

I bought a Aspire Nautilus Mini VV+ kit for $50 from a local shop with a -$10 off promotion. It works great! I also ordered a eGo kit from eBay for $13 and several CE4 tanks for it for $1.30 each from Fasttech. The CE4's do ok when I'm charging my Naut battery. The eGo-T battery that came with the eGo kit actually powers my Naut Mini quite nice lol. The Clearomizers will wick better and hit better with a clearer/thinner e juice. They are more of a backup for me and I keep one in my car also as it is lighter and smaller. I have heard of them leaking, but I have not had that problem yet.

Most people start with the CE4's and some stay on them others move on to other devices.
They are made quickly and or cheaply and many do leak even when filled and used correctly.
Once i got 20 from a place and only 2 were good , recently i got 10 for someone and we got a leaky one. First 20 were cheap but this 10 were not.
The ego T batteries - i noticed when i charge them the charger would say they were charged but they were not - So i would turn the charger off then back on again and it would continue charging. The ego batteries and the charger cables used to charge them are not the best technology.

The CE5's I found to be no better - The 4 i got all leak so I wouldn't bother with those.

Nautilus and kanger tanks are where most people go to - i had the nautilus and it did me good - I have since moved on to rebuildables with a kayfun light and Lemo.
The ego style batteries do get better and you get some with variable voltage but something like an eleaf Istick and other mods make them somewhat obsolete - though everyone has their favs.

Don't know if they ship to the UK (or if you're in the UK!) but here's a great deal on cartos:
Boge 510 XL Cartomizer - 5 pack

5 for 99 cents!

For a bottom-coil clearo, I really like these (and they are pretty inexpensive):

Only problem with them is if you stress them the plastic top can start to separate from the bottom metal collar (you can push it back in, though). It's a great "entry-level" BCC, though!

So I can use evod or kanger clearomizers with these batteries? Sorry for being thick I just don't have a clue! I'm used to just screwing on a new carto when it's done lol

Yep. Your battery will take pretty much any head with either 510 or ego threading (which is almost all of them).
And the EVOD heads aren't a bad choice either, certainly much better than the CE4's.

(I am presuming you're not ready to jump into rebuildables; that's a whole other dimension!)

ETA: Personally I was never a fan of the protanks, although some people really seem to like them.
