While I've gotten the hang of cartomizers and ego batteries, I've never tried direct dripping. When I got my setup, I bought a kit that came with cartomizers and have never had just an atty to drip on. Anyhow, with my last order at litecigsusa, I picked up a cheap smoktech LR 510 atomizer and a drip tip. When it came in the mail today, I put three drops on the atty, threw my drip tip on, put a few more drops in, and boom! I got the most flavorful, nicotine laced vape ever! I actually caught a nicotine buzz! haha. Anyway, one thing I noticed, the flavor started to taste bad, so I tried to drip a few drips of a different flavor, but all I got was the first flavor again. Do I need to clean my atomizer? If so, how?

I usually use different attys for different flavors. I never used the ego t tanks that came with my first kit. I tried them once and immediately started dripping after that. My neighbor who showed me the way was a strict dripper so I was kind of destined for it. Whenever I hit a silica wicked device, I noticed a burnt tinge to the flavor and a slight burning in my lungs. That alone kept me dripping for almost 2 years until I got my first RBA with a stainless steel wick. Now I have all the flavor of dripping with the convenience of a tank IMO.

Welcome to the drip side :2cool:

EDIT, guess I should at least address your question  Before I went to RBA's I tired several things to clean out my atty's, some worked better than others but ended up just getting more.

I found it really a pain to "clean" them so I would just blow them out into a paper towel, dry burn, and then drip a new flavor. Usually did OK, not great, but got tired of soaking them, drying them, etc. Some say vinegar, I used clear booze (vodka), it works but again kinda of a pain.

Now I use an IGO-L for quick flavor changes, I leave the coil attached, toss old wick, burn coil, insert new wick. I use cotton so this is really cheap and well, it works.

Anyway again welcome to the drip side!
