BHT plays very well with vanillas and caramels. I also have found it to be a rather volatile flavor that fades fairly quickly. I do not steep it, other than that from not vaping all of it at once. I make it at 10% and usually add it to other flavors. A couple drops in a vanilla carto is quite nice.

I also noticed the flavor fade. I think adding 1 drop per 5ml of vinegar should solve the fade problem. Also think I need to increase it from 7% to about 8 or 9.

I got this one FINALLY from WL, was waiting and waiting for it to show "in stock" and it just got here this weekend. Just happened to see this thread, so thanks for the heads up.

I was thinking of some graham cracker or brown sugar flavor in with it, what do you think? Sounds fabulous with vanilla, and at 4% I'm guessing it's a pretty strong flavor.

I'll have to play around a little, will let you know what happens, and will definitely add some vinegar to it.

No specific recipe but I just whipped up a small batch of juice with TFA's black honey, M type, brown sugar, and a skosh of vanilla bourbon and EM (more for the slight nutty/creaminess than actual sweetening). The ACV seems to brighten up the flavors and counteract the sweetness a bit without dulling the nuances of the individual flavors. It was decent after a few days but another week or two of steeping won't hurt.

Did the ACV help with the flavor fade guys, or have you had a chance to test yet? How quickly doe the flavor fade anyway, if nothing is done to try and intervene?

Mine arrived, and I mixed a 8% 3ml test batch 2 days ago, just tasted and it's like a very soft soothing taste to me, maybe light leather/sandalwood? I don't taste any pipe, tobacco, or honey :D I know, probably too light of a flavoring level in that small of a sample, plus it may need more than a few days to show it's actual flavor notes? Kurt said not, so maybe not? I know it turned pink within a day, so it's doing something already :)

It's probably "Light" in general to me because of the 3ml batch, I know better from doing that plenty of times in the past, 3ml's always taste very light to me for some reason (Just not enough flavoring overall in that small of a batch I guess). Anyway, I assume it's light due to that, plan to remix a 5ml or 10 tester shortly, but wanted to see if anyone had an update on the ACV yet, as I didn't put any in that first test and wondered what would be suggested for a 5 or 10ml test.

I'm going to try to get some green apple in the background hopefully, but not sure where I'm going to start on that one yet as I need to mix a larger test to see how soft or not the actual flavor really is since I messed up and made that 3ml first :(

I ordered a 4oz bottle of BHT from OSDIYS. I love this stuff! I generally stick to a 5% mix with it. It's a strong flavor. I generally add Honeysuckle for added sweet/floral note @ 2 drops/ml of the 5% BHT. I also add 1 drop Koolada/ 10ml to liven the flavors.

As a tried and true method, I use a candle warmer plate to mix. First, goes the flavors. Second, the PG. Third, the VG. I heat for about 30 minutes and mix by drawing and shooting the mix with large syringe. After heating and mixing, I add the nic and remove from heat.

Recently, I've done a Cavendish pipe extract that I mix @ 5% with the 5% BHT. OMG!

I mix this stuff in 180ml batches. All day- everyday. Just sayin'. ;)

Thanks Dougiestyle!

Since you say 5% is strong, does it taste that way soon after mixing, or only after a prolonged steep (few weeks or longer)? I'm asking because not sure if my test was weak to me due to size, which I expect is the issue per previous weak 3ml tests all the time, or if it's still going to be strong but it just needs to steep a week or two first.

Since you mentioned using Honeysuckle, do you know at what percent that one becomes a tank fogger or cracker? Or does it always happen, just quicker/immediately in stronger percentages?

I say it's a strong flavor due to the small percentage that I've found is need to experience it in contrast to some flavors that need 10% and 15% to be sensed. I vape it immediately, then let it sit for a week to mature, as is generally the rule with tobacco flavors. It has good flavor from the start, tho.

I'm unaware of Honeysuckle's tank crackin percentage, as I have a VW bottomfed boxmod.

Does anyone think (or already tasted) TFA brown sugar extra would be an OK mixer into this? If so, does anyone have a percentage suggestion to keep it in the background and not add too much sweetness?

I'm trying to work on combining green apple (Granny+Green) with this (BHT) as a secondary note, but after smelling the brown sugar extra it makes me think it would be the perfect accompaniment to the apples, so I want to get it in there and right first, before trying to get the apples in.

Suggestions anyone, thanks! Maybe this could get you trying a few new ways too dannyv45?

Thanks FinallyQuit, good to know you were considering it might be a nice addition as well!

Before I smelled the brown sugar, I was thinking a drop of my own Folgers or two, but now I'm considering that + some brown sugar. And then once I get that working I'll try adding in the apple backnote.
