I tried various ratios with or without other flavors but there was always something I didn't like about it. Than I've used only straight 1 drop in 2 ml of Nicbase and amazingly all the flavors jumped out. It's smokey like wood, honey sweet, perfect balance. I've found the same ratio works as well for RY4 Double. Definitely less is more on these two for me.

I'm intrigued by this statement and plan to try it. Bet it doesn't need 4 weeks to steep at that percentage. There are TFA flavors that are definitely in the "less is more" camp, like Caramel Cappucino.

I have tried several vendor versions of honey tobacco and all I seem to taste is grass/hay or pee. Wonder if it's the "honey" or the "tobacco" that contributes the most?

It has a nice rich but mild pipe tobacco taste with a hint of a smokey honey top note

Sounds like I need to give it a try. I wasn't happy with the FA honeywood. The honey was a little too strong in the after taste and didn't taste natural enough to suit me.

Edit: Or maybe not, lol. I read through the rest of the thread and sounds like this may suffer from a less than natural honey note as the honeywood does.

Whats important is how he's calculating drops. If he's using 20 drops per ml (which is what most calculators use) then he's actually using less then the original recipe. He's using 2.5% where my recipe uses 7%. That seems very low for a tobacco mix. Also did he steep it. The flavor will drastically fade in time.

You are right of course, I mixed originally at 7 or 8% (I can't remember and don't have access to the recipe until I get home) and after 4 weeks it was magical. But, last weekend I found myself totally out of tobaccos in my stash. I made up 3 bottles but those will all have to steep too. If this tiny bit carried me over for a couple days while larger batches steep, then I'm all for trying it out.

There is a little thing called seed steeping. If you have 5 ml of old stuff left and you add 25ml of new mix to it. It will steep in 3 - 5 days naturally. Don't ask me how it works or why but it does work.

I don't know why, but my BHT smells and tastes like [to me] baby powder (even the flavoring itself). I mixed up a batch at 6% with some caramel orig. about 3 weeks ago and it still has this taste. Any suggestions?

That's odd I never got anything close to a baby powder taste or smell. Is it TFA flavoring?

I mixed up a batch last night of BHT 7%, FA Fresh Fig 5%, and .5% each tfa honey and em. A quick test and it shows a lot of promise. I'm going to leave it alone for a couple weeks but I really want to add another tobacco, something to tone it down a bit. It's so hard not to touch it and wait.

I would'nt add anything else until it steeps. I found 4 weeks was perfect. It will tone down on its own.

Yep, TFA. When I first got it and smelled it, I thought hmmmm smells like baby powder and was very reluctant to use it and was curious why it was "sooo good". I hoped maybe it would change after steeping but there is still that smell lol. I'll order another 8ml and compare them. I can at least tolerate most flavors but this..this reminds me of the diaper days :D

That is odd. When I first mixed it I got a very strong alcohol and chemical smell but it didn't smell or taste anything like your describing. Maybe you got a bad batch or maybe its old. keep us posted if your new order does the same. The only other thought is that if the carto your using to sample it is not completely clean it could be mixing with what ever you had in it before and that's whats is causing the baby powder taste. Maybe something went off with the nic base. Have you used your base to mix anything else lately and is that stuff also tasting kinda off?

It smells like it right out of the flavoring vial too. That's why I was hesitant at first to try it. I use a RDA with fresh cotton to test juices. All my other juices taste great. I'm hoping it's just a bad batch :D

I can attest to having the same issues you have all reported. However, after a 2 month steep (not intentional, but happened) I tried my last BHT recipe last night.

Flavor is good, but a little light. The flowery, perfume taste and smell has receded, and my mix is quite enjoyable.

I'll be mixing another test batch with a little higher flavor percentage.

Don't have access to the recipe right now, so I can't share at this point. I'll post it when I can.

Sent from somewhere on planet Earth.

You know your right. Smelling the flavor concentrate it does smell overly sweet almost baby powerish. But my finished mix after it steeped for 5 weeks does not smell as sweet and no hint of that baby powder note. In fact you can smell a distinct tobacco note in the finished mix. I also found that artifically steeping it in hot water or an ultrasonic cleaner does not work for this flavor. It needs a good 5 weeks of natural steeping (As i mentioned in an earlier post in this thread). Maybe that's the problem.

I will say this. This is the hardest flavor I've seen from TFA to work with.

I also want to mention this helpful hint to everyone.

Once you do get your mix right and you mix your big batch of it. DON'T use the whole bottle. Leave 10ml's of your mix left over. You are going to want to use that to seed steep a new batch. Mix 20ml's of new batch and add it to the 10ml's of left over old batch. Shake well and let it sit for 4 - 7 days. It will be fully steeped in that amount of time. Don't ask me how it works but it does. There's some sort of chemical interaction between the old and new mix that drastically cuts down the steeping time. I know it works because I've done it. There has been some discussion on seed steeping so if you want to learn more do a search on the forum for "Seed Steep". And as a side note this works with any mix not just BHT.

Well, I tried the mix again and it seems a bit if not a lot better after 3 1/2 weeks. The prominent baby powder-ish taste/smell is dwindling and some flavor is coming through. I may save this and use that "seed steep" method and mix another batch up :)

Ya, the flavor is light in mine too. I'll be upping the % a bit as well.

Note: I don't want to turn anyone off of this flavor based on my first impression. I merely stated it to get feedback, not to say it's horrible. :)

At first blush it was pretty horrible. Patience is a virtue when it comes to this flavor!

At 8% with a little ACV it was very harsh, tasted mostly of chemical, and was no bueno. After some time passed it had promise, and after about a month it was so good I vaped it all up without saving any for the seed steep!

It's on the list for a 30 ml bottle.

Almost fell into that trap myself. After tasting my 5 week old BHT I couldn't put it down. Then I summoned up all the will power I had left and mixed that 20ml fresh batch and with shaking hands added it to my old 10ml batch and now have been vaping BHT ever since.

I loves mine.. gosh, forgot on this thread till just now.. :vapor:

try:

5% Honey
3% Pear
2% Black Honey Tobacco
2% Bavarian Cream
1% English Tobacco
1% Vanillin

Sweet citrus tobacco vape..

**edited.. please add 1-2 drops per 10ml of acv

I can't believe I left it out last night.. I have gotten so used to leaving it off tho, due to people not understanding, acv or white vinegar, is still good for vaping, as well as making good bbq sauce and rubber eggs ;)
