Hello all... newly registered peep here... I had smoked analogs for, I guess, 20 years or so. Not a heavy, pack-a-day kind of habit, but constant. At the (not so) gentle proding of my SO, I finally lit my last cig in January. Cold turkey... And all was well for a couple of weeks when that little devil on my shoulder started talking... "Psst.. you miss that smoke on the ride to work, don't you... come on, just pick up a pack and only smoke a couple a day..." Well, at that point I had to find an alternative. I was at the counter of my local convenience store, REALLY close to picking up a pack of Marlb lights... when I looked down and saw a small box of Blus. So I picked one up and gave it a shot.

Wow... where were these all these years. They scratched the smoking itch, all without smelling like an ash try. I could puff in my house and car without smelling up the joint. Best of both worlds. So I started buying disposables when I soon realized that... well, this stuff ain't cheap. At $9 a pop, the disposables might have been friendly to my taste buds and lungs, but sure as hell weren't polite to my wallet. So yesterday, on my way home, I stopped into a small smoke shop near my home, figuring maybe a specialty shop will have a lower markup. Little did I know that this particular shop specializes in e-cigs... I spoke to the owner, who showed me the ropes... they make their own juice in house, with some ridiculous amount of flavors... 50 or so... I picked up a Blu, thanked him. Today, I returned and picked up a eGo-T passthrough 'starter' kit and a 10ml bottle of juice (simple tobacco flavor, figured I'd start small.)... they were out of stock on carts, so I'll go back and pick up a few flavor samples...

So here I am... I haven't touched a cigarette in, now, 3 months.. and I can't see ever going back. And now I'm looking forward to making my way through the flavors on that white board. :) I'm actually quite aggravated that I didn't figure this out earlier.

So..... Hi!

Indeed... the disposables unlocked the handcuffs... gave me a way out of the rut I guess. And now that I have my own kit, and a KILLER shop down the street... it won't be so expensive. Well, as long as I don't start getting cute with the gear. Well, maybe I might splurge a bit and pick up some carts in some of those tasty sounding flavors.

Oh.. price question. They sell 10ml bottles for like $10 and carts are $2 a piece. That a good price? I have NO clue...

Take a gander at the ejuice review videos. There is a huge amount of ejuice vendors, some have great pricing and amazing ejuices, others have high prices but the ingredients are premium. There is a balance for everyone. I gaurantee once you see all the ejuice vendors you will be amazed at how many flavors there are. For me its quite overwhelming, but also exciting. I tend to try something new every month, I buy the 5ml bottles to make sure if I don;t like it that I lose much money. I tend to buy from ejuice vendors that are relatively close to me so that shipping doesnt take long. Take a look at the RY4 roundup posts for tobacco ejuices. People swear by them. I am a fruit ejuice lover. Since switching to ecigs thats what I started with, my only tobacco flavor was red box 2 from ecblends and it was nasty. I am afraid to try others, lol.

Anyways, welcome to the forum and congrats on switching.

10ml at $10 isn't bad for a brick and mortar shop... the carto prices are about right on the industry standard (if they're prefilled). I personally love Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes, USA made E Juice, and Accessories for all my e-juices, as I can get 30ml for right about $10, but there's the downside that some of them need to sit and age.

Either way you go about it though, be it brick and mortar local guys, or a place like MBV, welcome to the boards, and welcome to vaping!

Those prices are a tad high compared to online, but I'd pay that to a local shop owner if he sells quality products and takes time to welcome people into his shop and into this "hobby".

Also don't be unpleasantly surprised if you end up splurging on various stuff, you won't be the first or last to do it and it's easily justifiable when NONE of that money was spent on cigarettes.

From one new member to another, welcome :D

Yeah... the kit I picked up has an eGo-T PT and a tank that looks like a Vivi nova, just a bit more tapered near the mouth piece.

And I know that feeling of intimidation. The shop owner pointed to a white board with a HUGE list of flavors they make and asked 'What do you want to try?"... I was like 'derp derp' I got a bottle of tobacco flavored juice since I know I could deal with that.. until I found a flavor that I loved.

Yeah, the owner was awesome. I walked in and said "Just looking at e-cigs" and he smiled and spent the time explaining how and why they make their juices the way they do, demonstrated the gear they sold, offered a bunch of samples of flavors. I know I might be able to order online, but I really like the idea of supporting a local shop... I can get instant gratification if I want to try something new.
