My 1st attempt at a LM2596 mod.. Works Great!! Looks crazy! Yes, it's a Speed Stick deodorant container!! Glad I can change the cap.. ;)

My wife just shook her head and asked "Why?" I said "Because I can!" LOL

Still needs work, which I'll do when I use up my next container... ;)

its big you'd have to build a lunch box mod...lol........hey have you lifted pin 5 for a tac switch im still trying to figure on the wiring of it. Im assuming lift pin 5 solder 330ohm resister across grnd and where pin5 was. And one leg of switch to ground and other leg to lifted pin 5 is this accurate.

So on the lm reg pin5 is not being lifted off board just soldering in resister and switch leg to it. As you may know Im an electrician by trade not too much electronics..so reading a ladder schematic is limited thats why I ask. Just dont want to ruin chip

You have to lift pin 5 on the board. I also am not into electronics, aeronautical engineer. :) It has been a long time since I did this as most of the new boards have pin holes now for a tac switch.

Hey bj I was looking at the lm2596 schematic and thought by the looks of it would create a short by puting resistor to pos. And pin5, then switch leg A to pin5 and swtch leg B to ground..am I wrong. I use these dinosaurs cuz I have to use em up...ive been using new ones with on/off points..which did nada till I soldered 330k resistor to Pin5 and pos input.
