hey guys, so i am new to vaping and have been using a HORRIBLE mall kiosk ecig (innovativesmoking.com). very overpriced, low quality, you know the story. anyways, just got a joye510 in the mail and so far absolutely love it. i got some cartomizers with it, which i think are by FAR more effective than the cart/atomizer combos that it came with. i was just wondering if anyone had any tips for how to keep up quality or some problems that i might avoid with it. also, ive seen a number of different opinions on how to refill cartos. im fair game to be convinced. also, i dont see why anyone would like the cart/atoms more than the cartos. for me there is no contest? also the manual button rather than the automatic is much much better (which i was skeptical of at first). anyways, im rambling. would appreciate any tips. thanks, for all your help thus far. i'm this close to being analog free!

you got cartos so you off to a good start. if your battery seems not to last as long as you need it i advise getting a ego battery as it will work with 510 carto's. i got good luck filling them from the top but i use bogue soft tops. i fill them till they look slushy about 20 t0 25 drops and tap them on a table top to get the juice down while filling, then blow through them before putting it on the battery.

I did about the same thing as you, but I took a long break between the mall version and getting my 510. Something like almost 2 years. I prefer the cartomizers to the cart/atty setup anyday. A couple of tips to give you, get a passthrough for home use. Mine just died recently (got it with my 510 setup) and was rotating the batteries out almost hourly. Spent a little extra and got the Ego passthrough. I'm currently loving it. With the option of being able to take the usb off and use it like a regular battery, my 510s are feeling lonely now.
Also, keep tissues handy when refilling those cartomizers. I always seem to get juice on the battery threads so I'm using the tissues to wipe them off as well as wiping the threads out of all the batteries every so often. Please spend some time watching those videos, well worth the time spent on them.

thanks for the advise. it's very appreciated. i saw that i few people said that they have had success dripping into the hole in the threads. is this how you do it? i don't have a seringe and since i just got it earlier today, i haven't tried puncturing or obviously having to even start refilling them yet. but i am anticipating when i will have to. the video seems to show a different carto then i have. mine currently are the "genuine joye 510s". is this what you use?

When I buy carto's I make sure to get the ones with the soft cap. You can just pry off the white cap and drip right onto the filler material. If you have the hard cap type, you can drip through the hole in the battery end, it's just harder to know when it's full. A lot of people use the condom method which is just taking the rubber thing that came on your carto and filling it about 1/2 way with juice, then sliding the carto down into it. That forces the liquid up through the hole. I don't bother with it. If I have to fill a carto I just use the first method, it's a lot simpler and from what I've seen works better with less mess.

Carto's are easier to use, but atty's with a drip tip can't be beat in my opinion. You get better flavor, more vapor, and they last longer with less maintanance. Cartridges are another matter, in my opinion they aren't worth the cost and hassle. Next time you order something, try a drip tip. They're only a few $$ and you may just end up liking it. That's my 2 cents anyway.

That's what I have. I got mine from Cignot's. I went down to the local ranch store (Cal-Ranch) and picked up 2 needles and 2 syringes for around $1.50. What most of the videos show are the soft-tips. I'm expecting some to show up in the next couple of days.

As for dripping into the threads, I don't do that here. Too many animals to mess me up and waste the precious juice. Especially a puppy that is intent on running off with the tissues that I blow my nose with. Not giving him any chance to run off with the nic-covered ones. And that is not my puppy in the avatar-- he's my 9 year old dog, but he has a habit of bumping my arm when he wants to go outside. And that would be a mess if he decided to bump my arm, or the puppy jumps on me when I'm trying to fill my cartomizers.

Yup, gotta keep my pup in her 'puppy prison' (kitchen with gates) while I play with my toys... Personally, I'd be more afraid of being bumped with a syringe in my hand than spilling the precious juice (after having 2 ml of juice pour right thru a brand new blank carto last night - wanted to squeeze it out of the paper towel back into a cart LoL)...

That is a cutie in your pic tho'! So photogenic!
