Just got a REO Grand! Wicking question.

I've been using a Provari with a kayfun 3.1 for a while now and just got my REO in the other day.

So far I LOVE the flavor coming out of it! One thing i don't love is the immediate dry hits after 2 hits...

Normally when I drip I drip about 5-6 drops of juice and I'm good for ten hits or so. It slowly loses flavor and vapor production and I drip again.

I've been following advice from you tube and am using minimal cotton in the reomizer. If I wick it like my other rdas will I have a problem with juice flow? Or is 2 hits only what I can expect out of this device?

it really depends on the squonk.

if you squonk just a little, 2-3 hits sounds about right. if you squonk a little more, so it covers the coil--you should get more than that. in my experience at least.

Welcome David I wish I could help but I use silica I get at least 4 to 6 hits before I have to wet the coil again with plenty of warning its getting dry . A picture is always helpful when your dealing with atty builds . You may want to try lowering your coil be sure to not block the juice hole

You don't say what size coil. When I was using a Kayfun, I was making a 1/16" microcoil. I had the same issues you are initially and increased my coil diameter to 5/64" bit. Helped quite a bit for me.

I wrap a microcoil on a 16 gauge needle. Maybe I'll try a 14 and lower the coil down closer

With Micros I get about 3 hits per squonk. You're used to using a device that will flood if you add too much. a Reo won't, so squonk every hit, excess just drains away. After a while squonking will become normal and you won't even think about it.

What ohm are you running? I get less hits off a lower ohm coil. IMO...Once you scorch the cotton even slightly you might as well change it.

.6ohm 2/3 hits max using a 1/16
1.1ohm 7 hits

I am currently vaping a 1.1ohm 1/16 micro with RxW wick on a IGO-BF. Great flavor/vapor even after 8 hits.

If you want the best flavor, 1 squonk 1 hit is best, fresh juice everytime.

You can squonk and fill the RM2 up and cover the coil, flood it a little, tilt it opposite of the hole and youll get a tiny reservoir.

Squonking is different than dripping. Took me a day or two to understand. You don't want to squeeze hard and quick. You want to squeeze and hold for about 3 to 4 seconds allowing the juice to soak into the wick. Then release and wait a few seconds for the excess to drain back into the bottle. With cotton I would get 2 to 4 hits depending on the hits. I'm now using ready wick and get 3 to 5 hits depending again on the hits. Long and slow or quicker hits.

That is the beauty of squonking. Make sure you are getting good saturation. You do have to squeeze a good 3 sec on a full bottle and about 5 on a half filled bottle or at least that is what I found works for me. Congrats to you and happy vaping. The reo is so awesome. I have been vaping for a year but am new to the reo and it is like finding heaven.

I rebuilt with the suggestions... Bigger gauge needle... Moved the coil down the deck.. I'm getting about 10 hits per squonk. Love it!

Ha! No grass growing under your feet. So you are officially official as a resident of Reoville. Garbage pick up is Wednesday.
