Been lurking around the forum for about a week now. Finally decided it was time to jump in. Smoked 1 to 1 & 1/2 PAD for 30 years. Never tried any method to quit. I would always say, "I would love to be a nonsmoker." Never said, "I would love to quit." I honestly didn't think I could. Bought my eGo kit last Saturday. Had one cigarette that day and one on Sunday...and it tasted horrid. So, I laid the "stinkies" down right then. I haven't even wanted a cigarette since. I have to say that I am totally shocked and amazed! Here I am, a week later, not smoking. I'M NOT SMOKING! Simply Amazing!!! Can you tell I'm excited? I know it's only 1 week, but it's 1 week not smoking out of 30 continuous years of smoking. Every day without a cigarette is a huge accomplishment for me :)

Welcome Julia.:) You told my story exactly! I smoked for years and years and thought about quitting, but thinking was as far as it ever got. I think I secretly knew I could not do it, so why even try.

Like you, I haven't smoked since I got my beginner kit. And like you, I am still stunned and utterly amazed that I am not smoking! It has been almost painless for me.

I share your excitement and congratulate you on your week! I know you will have many, many more of being a non-smoker.:)

Congrats Julia – I quit about a week ago too. The difference is I have quit about 1000 times. Best success so far (before e-liquid) had been with a patch on my arm and a 4mg sucker in my mouth 24/7 – but I always went back to smoking. Longest I ever lasted was 3 weeks in 35 years.
Not this time. I’m no longer a smoker – I’m a vaper. The key for me was to come to the conclusion that I can’t not ingest nicotine. I don’t have to not partake. I just can’t smoke and live.
I don’t miss it. This method of ingestion is just as good – Better even. I can vape all day – I can vape indoors.
Vape on –

Way to go, Julia!! and yes, that's exactly how it is for me - I've been at it two weeks, and i am STILL positively DELIRIOUS, waking up SHOCKED every day when i remember that i am no longer a smoker, and amazed at how easy it was. I feel like a 6 year old at the amusement park with cotton candy in one hand and ice cream in the other..... :D

the only problem is .... you know how most women are about shoes? well that's how i am about juices. I can see it already. :D

Welcome Julia, and how is the hubby doing on his journey?? I hope he's as satisfied as you are!!
Couple of tips up front:
1) What ever juice you buy today you may hate in a few weeks. Your taste buds are going to change as you get your taste back.
2) Don't throw away any juice!! You may love that same flavor in a few weeks/months.
3) Everyone's taste is different, so don't rely on anyone's word without trying the actual juice yourself!! (Trust me on this one!!)
4) Do lots of research on ECF!!

Unfortunately, the hub is not doing so well. He says it's like inhaling radiator fumes and can't get past the "antifreeze" (he's done a lot of work on cars in his life). I've told him there's another alternative in trying the VG juice, but he's not open to it now. It's really hard for me not to push the issue and start listing all the chemicals (including PG) in those Marlboros he's inhaling. But, I know that doesn't work. It just causes hurt feelings and resentment. He says it makes him feel bad....and I've seen on here that some people can't tolerate PG. I'm trying to vape on and be an example instead. Still hoping he will come around.

Thank you for the good advice. I haven't tried any flavors yet other than Fireball. Don't care for it but still have it. Also got some WTA but I'm not tolerating that so well. Guessing maybe it's just not necessary for me and nic only will do the trick. I've ordered a few flavors from Backwater Brew. Waiting (impatiently) for them to arrive. Still not sure how to easily change flavors with a clearo. Assume you just rinse the old flavor out?

Yep! Right there with ya. What fun that we are on this journey together! I am having a few ...ahem....unpleasant side effects related to quitting. Keeping a journal on that so I can refer to it should I ever think about another smoke.

Congratulations to you, MissBlue.. It's very nice to meet you :)

Welcome oh great Gazoo!! and congrats!! Figure with your Avatar you'd have some futuristic vape gear.!!

I was a smoker for 27 years, and vape made not smoking ridiculously easy. Give it 9 months or so and the Vaper Euphoria will ease down to plain Vapers Bliss. It's an exciting time to take up vape and not have to smoke. Been a vaper almost a year now. And the ECF is where I learned to get my Vape ON!!

I started with a cig-a-like, then once I found the ECF, quickly upgrade to a regulated mod and a re-buildable atomizer, rba. Now after nearly a year of vaping, use Mechanical mods, high amp regulated mods, into rba's and DIY juice mixing too.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

Hi there, dice. I actually chose Gazoo because he was an oddball character (aren't we all?) who was exiled from his home planet and, while switching to vaping has been ridiculously easy, as you said, I still feel a bit exiled from my secure "home" planet of smoking. There are other things, one of which is simply that the picture made me giggle. haha! And, I hope to acquire some futuristic vaping gear soon!

Thank you! There is SO much to explore that I find it a bit overwhelming! Every time I venture outside of this one thread, I get lost in all the information. LOL!

I apparently have enough posts to where I can no longer start a new thread here. I'm skeered to venture out into those other threads. I'm not ready!!! lol

One of the benefits of vaping is supposed to be *saving* money. With all those juices and equipment and, and, and.... Well .... At least I'm not smoking, right?

You will probably spend as much or maybe more until you find equipment and juice that suits your style. After 2 months, I've settled on equipment for a while. Still trying juices.
