This is probably a really dumb question but if I don't ask, I wont know!

If I buy a 30ml bottle of juice with 18mg nicotine in, does that mean there is 18mg:30ml or 18mg:1ml or what? I mean, if I use approximately 1ml a day, how much nicotine am I getting?

They reckon there's 1.19mg nicotine (approximately!) in an Amber Leaf roll-up, at 20 a day that would mean I was getting 23.8mg per day...but how much would I be getting now?

It's interesting that with pre-rolled cigarettes they tell you how much nicotine/tar/carbon monoxide is in each packet but with R-Y-O they don't...I'd love to know! They can estimate for individual R-Y-O but it's hardly accurate as I rolled mine to an extra slim filter and that's not necessarily their measurement... it's a conspiracy I tell thee!

Thanks muchly for you help on this!x

Hi Rachy,

The nicotine level on the label of the eliquid is how many mg of nicotine per ml of liquid. So, if you purchased a 30ml bottle of 18mg (1.8%) nicotine, you could theoretically intake 18mg of nicotine if you vape 1ml. Of course you will never intake the entire 18ml because you never absorb 100% of the nicotine when you take a pull.

I hope that answered your question!

Has it been figured out how much nicotine is being absorbed from vaping, Ive seen 20-30% and also only 10%
I know that you only absorb 1mg (10%) from each analog so in a pack your getting 20 mg.

Ive read that the molicules are bigger from vaping than smoking so its harder for the lungs to absorb and you absorb more threw the mouth and mucus membranes.
Stands to reason if that is true then you would not absorb more than an analog or equally to but it would be less than the 10%.

I wonder if that 1mg (10%) figure takes into account the nic loss from sidestream smoke? Also there is the fact that we (I) tend to take much bigger drags off my PV than a cigarette.

It would be interesting if somebody did a study on nic absorption of vaping vs smoking using an equal volume of smoke/vapor inhaled.

The 10% was in findings from the cig manufactures.

No, because the other factor here is that no two people absorb the same amount of nicotine from the vaping experience. Just vaping style alone has something to do with that. I'm sure there are many physiological/biological factors as well. That's why the purported percentages are somewhat all over the map. The only way to really tell what's going on with you is appropriate blood tests. But unless you can convince your MD that this is medically relevant, chances are they won't perform the tests.

Based on ruyans rather indepth study on nicotine absorbtion, one puff of 16mg/ml is roughly half of what you get per puff of a stinky.

So id guess that means 8mg is 1/4, 24mg is 3/4 and 30mg is about the same. Of course higher coil heats may increase that...

Interestingly a nicotine inhaler delivers more nicotine per puff than a stinky, around double I think - those things can burn your throat and make ya dizzy, so thats no surprise.
