Currently I am just using the menthol that came with the 501 disposable kit I ordered. I have also ordered some "minthol" juice from Madvapes and I also ordered a berry to try. There are so many out there it is overwhelming. So do the tobacco vapes taste like an anolog does? Nothing too sweet.

I haven't found a tobacco flavor that tastes like an analog.
If you don't want sweet, Hype is probably not for you. Peach and melon...
No - nothing tastes like burning paper and leaves and formaldehyde, cyanide, carpet glue and the rest of the 4000 chemicals in cigs. However there are many juices that have aromas like fresh tobacco and I say aroma because your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami (msg) so when you get non-sweet tobaccos there is not much to taste, You have to smell the vapor (which cigarettes did for you by dumping their smell all over you)
Throat hit is affected by several things. Nic content, voltage of your battery, resistance of your atty/carto, and PG content.
I found a great straight tobacco that comes very close to the real thing BWB Virginia. I did a side-by-side comparison against an analog American Spirit full flavor, and apart from just a hint of sweet from the Virginia blend, they tasted almost identical. I don't even like tobacco juices but I could vape BWB Virginia. That's pretty nice for a tobacco. My mom vapes BWB Casablanca

I am new to vaping too, but I read quite a bit before I got my PV and I realized that I would have to try a lot of things out to find the perfect combo. To start, I have been playing with various juices, I am glad I ordered a bunch, since some are not really suoted to my tastes.
I was thinking along the same lines re: taste. I ordered a "Strong Mint" flavor for my 1st e-liquid to break the taste/nic-fix correlation.
