For anyone considering switching from cigarettes to vaping.....or even if you are thinking about using a PV (Personal Vaporizor) in places you can't smoke regular cigarettes. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra and get one that is descent! Read everything you can on this board and it won't be hard to figure out which is which!

If you buy a cheap one or if you pay alot for a junk one doesn't really matter because either one will bring you to the same ending.

1. Your junk equipment will break ie. the batteries will die real soon, the atomizers will burn out etc.

2. How about the ones that you pay way to much for and it sounds like you are gargling every time you take a hit and you get very little taste or vapor?

3. Or....the ones you have to draw on so hard your eyes begin to pop out of your head?

4. A side note here....the cartridges that come with almost all new equipment taste pretty rancid....you don't have to judge your PV by the cartridges that come with it.

Anyway, if you buy junk you will feel like vaping isn't for you or you will think you got ripped off (which you probably did) and you won't understand why most everyone on here is excited about throughing out cigarettes and vaping.

There are great suppliers here with great equipment at great prices. If you happen to see one in a tobacco store or bar....DON'T BUY IT at least not until you have checked it out in the review section here first. Most everyone here will give you honest feedback if you ask. If you don't, you COULD BE very dissappointed in the whole experience. If you do....chances are good you will toss the cigarettes!

Just my opinion.....but what do I know?

SLB isnt Joye - but a clone. Its not a bad unit either but its not JOYE brand.
I do agree that sometimes you get what you pay for, but in this new business area you also sometimes get taken to the cleaners for something you can buy online miles cheaper. Alas we can only 'advise' people to use the registered forum suppliers, we can't make the purchases for them lol.

+1 on this post.

I'll tell you my story...

About two months ago I was on a 2 hour bus trip to go see a Tigers game in Detroit. Now two hours without smoking is usually no big deal. But we were also drinking pretty steadily, which kills me if I can't light up, and I was feening for a smoke. Well the guy sitting in front of me whips out this thing that looked like a cigarette, takes a puff, and exhales (what I thought at the time) smoke! To saw the least, I was amazed and proceeded to question him about the thing. He told me he tried one out at the mall, like it, and bought it. He offered me a try and I was flabergasted. It was great and I wanted more. So he goes through the whole story on how it works, where to buy it, and how much it cost. $75.00 for this cheap ... kit that won't last two months before it's shot. But at the time I was way uninformed and made up my mind that I needed exactly what he had.

Well I never did buy that crappy kit. I have a little OCD thing when it comes to buying stuff. I need to know everything about it before I pull the trigger and hit the purchase button. So I jumped online and researched. First thing that came up? Flipping Blu e cigarette. So I dug through their website for hours, was almost commited and then the OCD kicked in again. So I decided to search for Blu reviews and low and behold I happen to find this site. And a whole new world opened up to me. So much to read, so much to absorb, so much to think about. I .... canned the Blu idea after about ten minutes of reading reviews on here. I read everything I could on this site, scoured the library, scrolled through tons of reviews, and after about three weeks of research I made my first PV purchase (eGo, extra carts, cartos, juice, etc.). I haven't looked back yet. At first I wanted juice that tasted just like my Marlboro Lights. Guess what? Nothing in the vaping world tastes like a cigarette. Why would it? You have cut out the burning tobacco, the tar, the million other addictive additives that those rotten tobacco companies have snuck into thier cigarettes. I finally figured that out and I believe that will make my transition from anologs to vaping much more easier. I still sneak an anolog now and then, but I know that'll stop. They really do taste like crap now. For now I'm happy trying different flavors and mixtures. I'm also happy to be sticking it to the motherfers tobacco companies. ;) But what I'm really happy about, was finding this site and not running to the mall to buy $75.00 worth of junk!

I'm in the OCD-shopper category too - I HAVE to get the best deal. I mean, aside from *ahem*otherstuff*ahem* that's what the internet is for, right? So anyway, I found this forum, did enough research to almost turn me away completely (so overwhelming!) and ended up pulling the trigger on an eGo kit.

See that number in my banner? It started the night before I rec'd my ego and a sample of puresmoker's delicious cashcapp. I've had one drag of an analog - on that first day - since and will never go back. I just couldn't. It's... nasty to me now.

(And that was before I found freedomsmokeusa and their awesome juices!)

Indeed, the "wet dog in a locker room" flavor that was preloaded in my starter kit almost turned me off this idea completely... Glad I ordered an extra bottle o juice right off the bat.

Good Post, Tax. Makes a lot of sense.

I got turned on to this forum from a bike forum I frequent. Someone posted a link to this place and I lurked for several weeks before I registered. I'm also a bit OCD when it comes to buying stuff, so I read as much as I could and noticed two things. First was that lots of people really liked the Joye 510. Second was that Cignot was a great company to deal with and they had a good deal on a 510 kit. I took the plunge and went through the usual learning curve to get my vaping to a satisfying point. It was not easy at first, but with the help of people on this forum I got it down.

Now I'm using a Joye eGo, also bought from Cignot, with the blue foam filler. I'm thinking about trying cartomisers, but other than that I'm happy with my hardware.

Now, juices? That's a whole 'nother story.......

Best regards,
Jerry

I'm a review addict too (OCD, ya'll call it).

I do a search for reviews for everything new item I buy. It has saved my .... numerous times, plus since most reviews tend to be negative, I get to see all the bad things that could happen once I decide to buy. If it's got 10 great reviews or more I'm hitting "add to cart". That usually means it's a very good product. Even though the Joye 510 didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, I still think it was a great pv for a 1st and would still recommend to a noobe who doesn't wanta fork out more than $50 initially.

I was someone who liked to look around and do some sleuthing when it comes to buying things online. Usually. When i bought my first PV it was from a joke shop down the street. Smoke 51. It's a 901 so it is a decent PV but i wanted something more. Excited about finding a better device that still looked like a real cig i found the Titan 510 from TW. I ignored my instincts and bought the baby. Don't get me wrong, i love my 510 but really wish i had found something like a RiVa or the Ego. I don't have one of them yet as i am reluctant to spend the money. I outgrew my need for something that looked like a cig...the day i bought my 510 (it's black...not white).

Definitely sound advice. I almost got duped by the Greensmoke crew...

I did buy a crappy kit, but luckily I wasn't deterred by the nasty plastic taste. I stepped up to a 510 and am currently LOVING my Tornado/eGo. I wish I would have gone straight to the Tornado, but that's the breaks. I think that a big part of the problem is the overwhelming amount of Youtube users who jump the gun. I made a secondary channel myself to post e-smoking stuff, but I won't be touting any of the rip-offs out there.

Great post. Now if we could just get that info to the brand new, uninformed people who are bound to get mislead, we would be doing quite well.

Here's what I don't understand....Why is it that we here know that there are good affordable brands like the 510 and the Kr8 and the eGo etc. out there, why is it that the Blu and Greensmoke and Smoke Everywhere places are not selling the better models?? I would think that it would benefit them to sell a decent product and not have to deal with all the returns. I wouldn't have such a big problem with them charging outrageous amounts of money if they were at least selling something that worked.
