I have been using kr808's for the past few months since I started vaping and I am ready to upgrade. I really want to get an ego. I've literally done hours of research trying to make sense of everything. From what I can see, ego's can be used with:
510 atomizers along with a cone setting and cartridges
Mega (cone) type A atomizers along with mega type a cartridges
Mega (cylinder) type B atomizers along with mega type b cartridges
or with ego cartomizers
There are also low resistance atomizers I saw that some people really like.

There are so many variables (mah, ohm etc) that I'm not sure I know what to buy. I don't really think I want a starter kit because I want to make sure that I like the 1st one I buy before buying 2 of them. I am on route66vapor right now and it would cost $48 plus shipping for an egp mega (900mah) batter, a type a mega atomizer, 5 type a mega cartomizers, and a type a delirin drip tip. Is that too expensive? ANY help at all would really be appreciated!

Seems like a fair price to me ... don't forget your charger! Maybe someone else will come along with a better offer.

I haven't tried the Type A, but I like the Type B (cylinder type) pretty well. I imagine the main difference is cosmetic.
Also like 510s. I mostly drip nowadays.

Aside from the options you mentioned (510 variants), you can get adapters to use other atomizer/cartomizer types as well.

Thanks, I know I would have forgotten a charger. I was going to go with the type a since I wanted to get a longer ego battery and I didn't want it looking too huge. Does the standard 600 mah one last a long time or is it worth it to just pay a little extra for the 900 mah? I'm checking out the pigcig too thanks! I have never heard of it so I gotta do my research on it

I'm not familiar with the LeCig D1. But, I looked at the linked page. It claims a 650 mAh battery, which is the same as a standard ego-type, and that's not bad. A full charge on one of them lasts me 5-6 hours casual vaping. IMO, it is worth a few dollars more for the XL batteries, that's all I buy now. But, since you're a little concerned about size maybe the 650 mAh would be the place for you to start. You'll get used to the size pretty quickly. 900 mAh batteries fit nicely in the hand, they're not really enormous, but any battery with a day's worth of power is going to be considerably bigger than a cigarette.

I decided to try out the lecig d1 pigcig since it is 808 compatible. I don't know anything about atomizers anyways, so I hope this one works out better than the ego would have.

I have had my Joye eGo XL (900mah) from DragonFlyEcigs.com and love it. The 900mah batteries are lasting me all day long and I am a heavy vapor. I also bought the mega carts and atomizers and now I am set to go for the entire day. Using the 510 atty and carts required me to refill the cart several times a day, which defeated the purpose of being able to just get up and go for the entire day. So I highly recommend the Joye eGo XL with the mega carts and attys for people that don't want a lot of hassle (having to carry a lot of extra batteries + ejuice, etc). And it has an easy draw with a lot of vapor.

For those of you that just want a standard eGo (650mah) starter kit. You might want to check out the Only $36.95 - Hot Sale JOYE EGO Kit High Quality Electronic Cigarette Vaporized They have a started kit (one atty + 2 batteries (650 mah), cone, chargers for $36.95 which is the lowest I have seen.

Update: I know I alerted everyone to the $36.95 sale of the Joye eGo at BigBoxStore.com, but I want to add my experience so that people are warned. I ordered on December 10 and as of Dec 17th the site still shows the order in being processed for shipment. Since it was for a Chirstmas gift, I paid an extra $30 for expited 3-5 day shipping instead of the 7-21 days so feel that their processing time is way out of the normal range.

Final Update: I received the two Joye eGos today and everything was in the shipment and all batteries charged up fine. So other than recommending that you DON'T pay extra for the 3-5 day shipping everything is fine.

NOTE: Although the website says that the attys are for eGo's only, that is not the case. They are 510 attys NOT the eGo Mega attys that I expected.
