Hey everybody.

I'm new to the forums so I wanted to use my first post to tell you all about v2cigs.com. I ordered a standard kit from them a little over a week ago and I'm sending it back today. First, let me say that this is not because of their product. Their product works fine, though I am a noob and don't have any experience to compare it with. All I can say is that, as an alternative to smoking, it worked fine. That being said, let me tell you about the ordering process.

I ordered the kit and payed for overnight delivery. I was very excited to start vaping and, more importantly, stop smoking. The next day, I checked my order status. It said that my order was "awaiting fulfillment". I talked to customer service through their online chat and asked if there was any problems with the order. I know, maybe I was being a bit impatient, but again, I was excited! Turns out, the flavors of cartos that I ordered weren't in stock. Of course, I thought. So I told them to switch the flavors to something else, which they did, and I thought, "Ok, it should be here in a couple of days." Two days later, the order was still "awaiting fulfillment," so I called. After a 15 minute hold time, they told me that, oops, they must have overlooked the order and it would be shipped right away. This is day three or four after I ordered. Sure enough, they shipped it and I received it the next day. When I opened the package, I saw a note saying the case I ordered was backordered and would ship when it was restocked. Nobody mentioned this to me at any point during the two conversations I had with them. I really began to wonder if this company was the one I wanted to do business with. I mean, I don't want to be waiting for cartos while these guys sit around, twiddling their thumbs. So, I did some research, found another company that I would rather do business with and called v2cigs back to tell them that I was send my kit back. During that conversation, they said that the person that I spoke on the phone with the first time had made a note that it was ok to ship the kit without the case that I ordered. Let me repeat that at no time was I told that the case was out of stock. The guy I spoke to the first time knew that my case was out of stock but just decided not to tell me about it. That, IMO, is pretty slimy. In fact, if they would have told me the case was out of stock in the first place, I probably would have told them no problem, and to ship it when it was in stock. The fact that they didn't tell me when they knew something was out of stock really makes me mad.

All and all it was a real bad experience and because of it, I won't be doing business with them in the future. I ordered a Bloog Maxx Fusion yesterday, I have been hearing all kinds of good stuff about that.

Anyway, sorry about the long post, I just wanted to share with some of the newbies and hopefully help someone avoid a lot of frustration.

Thanks.

Hey Doomed!
Welcome to the forum!
I gotta say that I'm not surprised by your experience. I won't go into a long song and dance, but the quality of customer service in most industries has fallen to very poor levels. Seems like it happens to me a lot.
Order parts for the lawn tractor, they send the wrong one. Ask someone at the electronics store a specific question about a pc, they make up an answer or just give me a baffled look. Go to a restaurant for a nice meal and somebody on the waitstaff is having a bad day and treats you like they don't really give a hoot(even though you're spending hard-earned cash that pays their wages). Oh well, to much song & dance.
If you stick to the ECF list of suppliers for your vaping needs, I don't think these types of problems will happen very often. I've ordered from several of them and have been quite pleased with the friendly service and their level of competence.
I wish you the same good experiences. Best of luck in your future vaping endeavors.

Regrettably, I had a similar experience with V2. My first order (a starter kit) was shipped timely and I am grateful it led me to this forum and quitting analogs completely! However, subsequent orders from them were "in process" for weeks with virtually no dependable customer service.

V2 has committed to a sizable and effective internet advertising campaign. Unfortunately, their lack of support may drive many potential PV users away.

I was fortunate to find ECF and my experience with the forum suppliers has been fantastic. I can only hope other customers find their way here as well.

Yet another v2 sob story. I ordered a starter kit way back in December of last year, a week or more before Christmas. It was delivered on January 10th. Yes, it took nearly a month, and part of the order (the PCC) didn't arrive. I got a notification today that the PCC has finally shipped, but I foolishly placed a carto order with them early last week before investigating my other options.

In the meantime, I've received two packages already from V4L and a package from LeCig, all ordered last week. The v2 order still says "Awaiting Fulfillment". I need to contact them and cancel it, I guess.

Doomed, same here. Just kept getting told one thing while another thing happened. I'm active on their forum as well and the mood has taken a turn for the worst as they are "struggling" to keep up with demand. It's a shame they couldn't have employed an inventory tracking system so it would reflect on the website while ordering but what can you do...I am still waiting on "all" of my order that they had conveniently forgot time and again. But I have decide to take the plunge into other vendors and I'm currently eyeballing the Prodigy V3.1 so, Happy Vaping.

had roughly the same experience with "the safe cig." the unit is great, and if i wasn't so impressed with vaping in general i would send it back. however i will certainly not being doing business with them in the future, ESPECIALLY after finding out that they had given my cell phone number to some chinese dudes.

oh well, i know better now. :)

I have been dealing with V2 for all of 3 weeks, in that time I have had 2 dead batteries, 2 wrong shipment, 2 subs for out of stock, 2 back orders, and nothing but my last order has shipped when they said it would, and I have bought 1 pack of cigarettes because I had no carts.

AND THEN.....

I chatted with CS about my replacment battery, and guess what THEY FORGOT:facepalm: This converstion took about 45 minutes because there was a lag of 45-120 seconds between responces. We had a little issue with my address, it is a long story but I have 2 addresses one for Fedex and one for USPS, enjoy:

Katie says:
yes, that is my USPS shipping address, fedex is different and you can’t send usps to the fedex address and you should have both on file. but I am sure someone forgot that too. Can you ship it to that address please, maybe?
Katie says:
Please Mike, take all the time you need, I am sure that game of solitare is way more important….
Mike says:
I wish
Mike says:
I had time to play solitare
Katie says:
I wish you would answer my questions
Mike says:
I’m putting in about 55 hours a week at this place
Katie says:
yeah, thats because you guys can’t remember to do things like ship stuff out
Katie says:
are we shipping to the po box yes or no
Katie says:
2 or 3 letters that is all I need
Mike says:
No that is because we have outgrown all growth models by 200%
Mike says:
No
Katie says:
you can’t ship to my po box? okay then don’t send the replacement at all because I won’t get it. I will call Stephanie and straighten it out
Mike says:
Wait
Mike says:
I’m doing it for you
Katie says:
Mike, I am about to start beating my head against the keyboard I am so frustrated right now. So now you can ship to the PO box?
Katie says:
seriously about to jam my remaining battery into my eye…..
Mike says:
Done. Thank you so much for your patience. I greatly appreciate youtime
Mike says:
your time
Mike says:
Have a nice night
Mike says:
Don’t jam the battery in your eye
Mike says:
Its not good for you
Mike says:
LOL
Katie says:
I will try to remember that
thanks, I will try to remember

I feel your pain. I harrassed them for a week before they could even access my order (system upgrade gone very bad). By then, I had read enough about V2's difficulty in fulfilling orders and had already settled on V4L as an alternate. They were finally able to see my order and I promptly requested they cancel it, since I had already received my order from V4L. In hindsight, I'm very happy that I had the challenges with them that I had. I feel better knowing now before I make a huge investment in this company (term used lightly) and before I find myself depending on them for replacement carts. I'll have my own thread on here soon with a much longer rant about my displeasure with V2 and how happy I am with my first impression of V4L. I can't speak to the product yet, as I'm going through my initial 8-hour charge (per their recommendation). But I received my product two business days after I placed my order, which was done after business hours. In closing, I'm very happy the things worked out the way they did, though I was planning to vape a week ago. Such is life.

MNG, just to get you vaping faster, you don't need to do the "8 hour charge". If the batteries came pre-charged (I assume they do from V4L, but I've never bought one of their batteries), you can use it immediately. It might be only 80% charged out of the box, in which case you're welcome to put it on the charger but once the light is green nothing else is happening. Letting it sit for 8 hours isn't going to do anything.

Also note that you don't need to run the battery down to empty before putting it back on the charger because lithium ion batteries don't have memory like old NiMH or NiCAD batteries. If anything Li+ prefers to be recharged frequently and never discharged to 0%. Luckily the battery will stop vaping well before it gets down to 0 charge, so just use it until the tip flashes and then recharge and you'll be fine. And if the tip isn't flashing yet but you're done for the day, toss it on the charger so it'll be ready for tomorrow.

Thanks for the info, toddos. V4L put together a user guide in their subforum here and suggested that when you first get the batteries, they recommend charging them for at least 8 hours:

"When you first get your new VK battery it's best to charge it for 8 hours before using. This will increase the life and power of your battery."

Do I understand you correctly that there is no truth to this? What motivation would they have for making this claim?

I'm not sure why they'd recommend that, as their charger and batteries have built-in overcharge protection such that keeping a charged battery on the charger for 8 hours does literally nothing (well, other than a periodic trickle charge as the battery naturally loses charge over time). This seems like holdover instructions from the NiMH battery days, where you had to worry about memory and cycling and going through several full charge to completely empty cycles made sense as you could actually shorten the battery's life by charging too soon or too frequently.

None of that applies to lithium ion batteries, which is what V4L (and eveybody) uses.
