I have been vaping for about a year now and I started out with a lavatube. It was ok for a while but the top and bottom cap both popped off within a few months. I had to solder the two wires back on to the top cap to get it working again (no clue where bottom cap is). Anyways I have been wanting to buy a new mod for a while, but I wasn't sure what to get. I decided just to play it safe and get a provari this time. I hope it will last longer than the lava tube.

I also want to get an RBA as well as a nice carto tank. Any suggestions here? I was thinking either a phiniac or ibtanked carto tank, but I don't know what RBA I should start out with. So far I have just used regular atomizers, cartos, and vivi nova tanks. I just use the atomizers to sample juices and I pretty much exclusively use vivi novas throughout the day. I am tired of the novas though. Sometimes they leak and I get juice build up in the top cap and other times I get dry hits when the wicks are completely soaked which doesn't make much sense because I know that my voltage isn't too high.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated!

Congrats you your new ProVari, you will love it! I've only had mine about a week or so, and it's a quality piece of equipment. I have been using carto tanks exclusively since I got it. The only problems have been some of the juices I have, other than that, it's been great! I have no experience (yet) on RBA's, but plenty of the other folks here do. I will be listening intently to what they say too. :D

Congrats on your new investment. It should do you well for a long time. Provari carries an excellent reputation for quality of build and Service after the sale.

As to an RBA - if you are just getting into RBA's an AGA-T2 with Glass tank would make a good starting point. It will allow you to become familiar with all the basics and whether this is the route you really want to go, while keeping cost reasonable.

I totally agree with the AGA-T2. http://www.jugheads.co/shop/product/coming-soon-aga-t2-rba-eta-decjan/ You also will need a multimeter to test with. Ebay and Amazon has some pretty good deals.

    Hi gadawg,

Congrats and hope you enjoy and love it as much as I do. :) as far as cartotanks I really love my IBTanks on them the 19mm xl is perfect on them for me. ( I have 8 of them) I also my my 2 Phiniacs but haven't been using them as much. You will do great with either of those. I have not gotten into RBAs yet but everyone says the Aga T2 is a great one to start with .. Looks good and is very affordable. I'll post pics with IBtanks and Phiniac .. The flexi sleeve/ lanyard is from SerenityGear leather.

Longtime cartotanker here. I recommend the IBTanked for a Provari. The 19mm diameter is a perfect size for the Provari. I currently have seven of them in my collection. Just decide which length of tube you want depending upon the cartomizer you wish to use.

I'm just getting into the Genesis rebuildables myself. I have the AGA T2 with pyrex tank. I liked it enough to buy a second one. The above link is a good price for one. I recommend getting some additional wire and mesh (you'll end up using it anyway) because what came in my kit was pretty wonky. I've not tried the silica wicks, only the stainless.

I question the need for a multimeter if you own a Provari. I bought a digital multimeter specifically for setting up the AGA, and I haven't even taken it out of the box.

The Provari can do it all. It can check the ohm of the coil. You use it to help you find shorts (it can see them better than I can, throwing an error code), and you can use it to do the pulse oxidation of the coils. The demo that Zen did for Provape and the ZAP is probably the best video to see how this is done. Z-ATTY-PRO Rebuildable Atomizers For ProVari - YouTube

I say don't waste your money on the multimeter, but do get a mini-torch to oxidize the metal mesh and wire.

Thank you both for the pics!
Baditude is the vaping experience similar with the RBA compared to the carto tanks?
Sorry fans, but when the AGA is working in top form, the cartotanks can't hold a candle to it. I still laugh out loud at the clouds of vapor I make. The vape is so smooth that I often don't realize how much I am inhaling.

Gadawg, I've made some blog articles that you might find useful on cartotanks and cartomizers. You can find them by clicking on the link under my avatar.

Thanks Baditude. I have read your blogs before. They are the reason why I wanted to give carto tanks a shot. I will be ordering an ibtanked carto soon.
I really would like to order the Aga t RBA as well but I can't find them in stock anywhere other than the place flintlocke linked. Im not sure how to order from there though.
Does anyone have any experience with the Aga Hydra rebuildable? They are availabe.

My Vapor Store had the AGA T in stock as of a couple of days ago. It doesn't come with the pyrex tank in the kit, but they do sell the pyrex tube as an add on accessory.

Mountain Oak Vapors also sells the AGA T2 (with the glass tube) for a little more $.
