would you mind explaining what the 350 and 650 modes are? I am hoping to have my vamo figured out before it arrives. Not sure thats going to happen though! Lol

With the vamo you can use a single 18350 battery(looks like a mini vamo) and a longer 18650 battery(full extended length) or you can stack 2 18350 batteries.
aha gotcha! Thanks man!

Got my VAMO from TropicalVapors.com
Trustfire 3000mah
Not to bad a price. Lasts me 2-3 days, and I am an all day vapor.

Definitely NOT a recommended battery for the Vamo. ICR protected or unprotected cells should not be used in this mod, only IMR cells. AW's or Efests are great. The max discharge rate is way too low on that cell.

So I Looked around and checked the VAMO guide and found that information... Makes me a little frustrated that the VAMO on TropicalVapors.com which made me think that they were good to go in the VAMO. So I went on RTD and got some AW IMR 18650 2000mah and a Xtar WP2 II.
Pretty upsetting since thats around 50 bucks on top of what I already spent... thanks for the heads up

Just for variety, you can order the same 18650 AW IMR 2000mah battery and XTAR WP2 charger for about the same price from AltSmoke. They're supposed to have pretty fast shipping, and on your first order, you get 10% off. Plus, they have both in stock right now, whereas (at the time of this post) RTD doesn't have the charger in stock.

I've just ordered myself a Vamo a few days ago too, and I am going to be purchasing the same 18650 batteries and XTAR charger.

Nothing at all against RTD, I'm just offering an in stock alternative. Happy vaping! :vapor:

Yeah I went and checked... I guess I got one of the last ones before they were out.

I just got my vamo today, using Efest 18350's stacked and loving it. I have two flattop and 2 button top they both work fine in mine. I bought my vamo and batts from smoktek.com, fast shipping from FL to TN pretty great price for all the bells and whistles you get with this mod. Running a VV nova and a 3ohm carto to flavor swap; love just bumpin up the wattage to get my sweet spot and just rocking out.

On a side note I will say when I first opened it up I had an Ultrafire 18650 freshly charged and the vamo took it beautifully, turned on, but when the fire button was pressed immediately became non-responsive. Make sure you have the correct batts, I nearly had a massive coronary.

Congrats on your new purchase, I hope you love yours as much as I love mine! Vape on!

I'm wondering, what makes you say this. As far as I understand it from what I've been reading on Battery University, the difference between the two is energy output potential. I've been using the ICR that I got for my eVic with zero issues in the Vamo, but if there is some reason I should only be using IMR's in it, I'm all ears. I have an IMR arriving on Monday, but can't see how having magnesium in the battery is going to make a huge difference.

The max discharge rates between IMR and ICR are different. IMR batteries typically willl discharge up to about 10c, where ICR cells will only discharge at about 2 to 2.5c. The protection circuits on protected ICR cells will also kick in at @ 2A, which will kill power to the device. That's what person with the Trustfire a couple of posts back was experiencing.

If it's an unprotected ICR, then it's just unsafe in a mod like a Vamo, as it has no protection, is not made to handle the discharge rates that the Vamo will put on it, and is an unsafe battery chemistry compared to LiMn.
