I had bought an njoy from seven 11 last week, and immediately became fascinated about the prospect of having a hookah-like device to smoke from all day long without any of the negatives associated with smoking. Though the cartomizers for this product were both expensive and unpleasant tasting (in my humble opinion), it didn't stop me from doing research and getting into the vaping community. I've been reading up on this forum for awhile now, but since i just placed an order from Vapor4life, I decided to join. I'm extremely excited to start with this new brand, and try some of their flavors. (The black batteries are so much cooler looking than cigarette look-alikes as well). I'm hoping that this starter package of two shorty batteries, one CC, and charger, (plus 5 cartomizers) impresses me as much as i'm expecting it to. I'm hoping for a pleasant and easy vaping experience, as easy as buying cartomizers, attaching, and smoking. one, two three. I understand that it requires maintenance, but my hope is that vaping isn't a chore, the way taking out a cig from a box and sparking isn't a chore. I've read up on filling your own cartomizers with liquids, but I havn't decided if i'm going to go this route yet. (It depends entirely on the taste of the pre-filled ones, and especially how long they last.) Has anyone else had positive experiences with the Vapor4life shorties? and, one other question, I am a tad concerned about what is in my cartomizer (or juice, if i go that route) as I know many are manufactured in China. Not that China is a sub-par country or anything, but I can't imagine they'd have the factory regulation like we do in the US.

have any conclusive studies (i'm aware of the defective FDA study) been done on the general content or chemical composition of carotmizers or juices of ecigs? I can't imagine they have things worse than analogue cigs, but I like to keep in mind that throughout history, things once deemed "safe" (like the original cigarette) eventually turn out to be "cancerous" in 20-30 years.

and last but not least, any reviews on Vapor4life or personal experience you'd like to share would be appreciated.

:)

The KR808D1 that vapor4life sells is a good kit and it has a lot of fans. I prefer something with a longer battery life though.

As far as studies go, other than the obviously flawed FDA study. The only ones I know about are one done by the government of New Zealand and one done by Harvard. They both concluded that PVs are safer than cigarettes and were effective at getting people off cigarettes. You are right to remember that we don't know what these things will do in 20 years. They've only been around 8.

I started on manual shorties. They are only 180mah, the same charge length as a standard Joye 510 battery. So at most 2-3 for a light to moderate vaper, and for a heavy vape cut that in half

Every ecig I started with short batteries and then went to longer. The standard KR8 batteries are 280mah so 60% more charge and still fit in the PCC. The XLs are 380mah but do not fit in the PCC.

I recommend manual batteries. Harder to kill manuals with juice leaks of the type you will sometimes get when refilling cartos or filling blanks. Autos are dependent on a drag sensor switch right near where a carto would leak.

I think you'll like it. I have the standard Kr808 with the 280mah battery. I'm almost always near a power source and I have a PCC. I had the same concerns you have about refilling cartos, let me share my experience with you, it actually is fun and not a chore. Once you start getting into the different flavor juices you want to try them all. Watch the youtube videos on filling a carto. I tried the condom method first and it was really simple, but it got a little messy cleaning out the cap. I found that pulling off the cap and dripping refills the carto much more efficiently. You'll find that it is so much cheaper to refill cartos rather than throw them away and purchase more. The original fill on a carto won't last as long as you'd like it too and you'll find that refilling is easier than you think.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping.

Welcome! As for maintenance issues once you get past the charging and basic care and feeding of your PV, I think you will find it becomes easy with a ton more benefits to using analogues. I like being able to put it down when doing something and being able to pick it back up without having to start a new. (because it burned off and is now dead) or burned a hole in your car seat-couch-ect... The pre-filled were great for about a week, then I got tired of worrying about having a supply of them or running out.( this steps off after getting past the other chemicals associated with the addiction) You should be able to fill the dead ones back up for a bit so don't just dump them- buy yourself an interesting juice to try out when you work up the courage and go for it! Tons of resources here for that and you are already looking into it by being here, so take the extra step and be prepared.

As far as the health issues go. I haven't seen the PG linked to any issues even being inhaled- My daughter has asthma and she uses a nebulizer in which her medication contains PG as well as a bunch of other medications and topical meds do. I am not a medical professional by any means but if you look at the amount of people who use this device and over how many years, I've personally never heard of any precautions or dangers. The majority of other stuff that is in juices is pretty much considered food safe so it's already better than an analogue. Your still gaining years regardless. Good Luck and let us know how it's going :)
