Im right there with you. Ive been working with 808s for about a year now and I just ordered my first mod, a Maxi roughstack v2. Cant wait. should be here tomorrow! I'm pumped.
Hope you enjoy your roughstack. I started with a 510 Ego and made the leap to Roughstack about 8 months ago. So far, so good. My Ego died after dropping it. I drop my roughstack at least once a week and the thing just keeps on working. Haven't had problems with the switch or anything else. I have 2 18650 batts that I switch out every evening. Works so good that so far I haven't been tempted to go after 6v or other "pretty" mods.
Try it with a good 2.0 ohm carto or a Cisco 306 LR. I'm liking the Kanger 510 horizontals over any vertical coils.

Thanks for the tips--the range of choices is overwhelming. I ordered the 5ohm carton because someone else recommended them; I'll try 2 as well.

What voltage are you vaping at? 5ohm cartos are going to suck if you're running it at 3.7v. I've tried running my LT at 3v with 3ohm cartos and they produce almost no vapor (that's a higher wattage than what you'd be running at with 5ohms @ 3.7v).
If you're staying at 3.7v you'll want something in the 1.5ohm-3ohm range (3 being kind of high).

First impressions: smaller than I expected, very attractive, fits well in my hand. I couldn't wait to try it out, so I dripped a few drops of ultrapure unflavored 12mg vg on the included atomizer and took a drag. Yuck--I don't like whatever madvapes puts on their attys. Blew it out, washed it, dried it, dripped, tried again. A few pulls and the bad taste was gone. And wow, great vapor production, warmer than with the 801, but very tasty! I like it so far.

When you drip on atty, at most 2 to 3 drops at a time. Take 5 or so good drags. Drip another 2 drops. It has a learning curve. I can drip more drops 4 or 5 with a 306 LR atty probably because of the design. Any more than 3 drops on a 510 atty and you will be flooding (leaking).
3.5 ohms is the resistance of a standard 801 atomizer. The atty on your roughstack is probably in the 2-2.5 range. More powerful and bigger clouds!!!!! You may have to take smaller drags or pulse the button.
I love getting massive lungfuls of the 12mg. I've mixed some 12 and 18 together--I like this mix a lot too.
I wish I had figured out years ago that just getting a basic big-battery mod and dripping on appropriate attys would give me a vastly more satisfying experience. I dont want to smoke at all now. Two days off analogs. Live and learn.
