jk, took me all of 4 minutes. works way better. i wrapped two strands of 2.5 mm silica 4 times with 32ga kanthal. i don't have my meter at my house now but the temp feels around the 1.8 ohm coil without the disgusting burning taste. also made my wicks super short so i have more room for juice and just will tilt it more.

big improvement but i am still using siica wicks so the lack of flavor is there. not too bad though. i think i will get some hemp and try that since there is no reason to dry burn when i can just pitch my coils now. no dry hits though like i used to get.

I've been re-wicking with cotton, and atlast with consistency. Three bucks for years supply and great flavor. My new fav is my RDA. I'm excited but almost scared to rewick it with cotton. That 9$ tank is an effin' beast lol

First time I recoiled a Vivi Nova I saw fireworks in my coil for a good 3 times! And that piece of rubber which separates the wire from the center post... you have no idea what a awful smell it had!

Pretty cheap rebuilding this way. I have been doing the same but with bamboo! WORKS great!

Congrats! I bought some vivis for just this reason: trying my hand at rebuilding. Glad to know it worked out well for the first time.

Now that you are rebuilding, it will open up a whole new word of vaping. I still have the additional two heads on both my VN mini and regular and a 5 pack of heads. I also found my rebuilt heads easier to tune to my tastes.

I just rebuilt a evod head for my protank today. It was also my first ever rebuild and super easy. I used 32 gauge kanthal with 5 wraps around some xc-116 ceramic wick and got a 2.1 ohm reading on my zmax. Taste was awesome but it leaked real bad at first so I cut half the diameter of wick and put it on top for flavor wick and to close the gap and eliminate the leak. Works like a charm and with this wick I don't get nasty taste after dry burning like with other wicks. NO reason to buy heads anymore I'm a rebuilder from here on out.

yeah, i have two more heads that i haven't rebuilt. i'll probably just leave them until the gasket goes on the one i'm rebuilding now. right now i'm just using inferno batteries (rebranded ego). once i upgrade i'll probably get an aga since it's so damn easy.

yup, def rebuilding from here on out. why go back to buying heads or cartos? i actually have never bought extra ones besides what came in my kit since i'm new to vaping. but i just decided to rebuild instead.

No, it was 4 or 5 wraps. The problem probably was that those wraps were touching each other therefore causing a short -> fireworks.
