So I just received my Riva 510. It comes with empty cartridges. How do I know when the cartridge is full? How many drops does it take? How often do I need to fill it up?

After a few minutes of vaping it gets really hot should I be letting it cool down periodically or is it okay? Also when I push the button it takes about a second to hear a kinda crackling sound. I assume this is the atomizer working. Should I wait till I hear it to draw?

I'm also tasting a bit of juice after a couple of hits. Is this normal or is the cartridge too full?

Thanks so much!

the cartridge takes about 15 drops but due to the "vacuum" or "air bubble" at the bottom if the cartridge, you will get only 10...sometimes less. you fill it up when the flavor starts so taste "different" trust me, youll know.
if i was you, i would get boge 2.0 cartomizers...you wouldnt need the atomizer or the cartridge then.
you can fit 30 drops in a cartomizer when they are new,20 drops when you refill it. i started with the same set up you have but got tired of constantly refilling the thing.
the atomizer part will get hot after vaping on it,no worries...but if its too hot to hold in your hand, ease up just a bit on the puffing.

many hold the button down a second or two before inhaling, giving them better vapor and sensation.
it is somewhat normal to get juice in your mouth from time to time but yes, it typically means you over-filled it a little.

Once the cart is full (looks slushy on top with NO pooling) vape away, to top it off you're looking at maybe 4 drops of juice. Avoid adding juice to the point where it pools because you may flood the atomizer and get gurgles or juice in the mouth. If you DO flood it, just unscrew it and blow through it into a tissue, drip two drops right on the bridge of the atty and start over. Remember to take slow and controlled drags at least 5 seconds, vaping is much slower than smoking but taking a slow and staedy drag will produce a thick and tasty vapor. Slower is always better, take your time and enjoy that crackling sound, it usually means you have a good atomizer as quality can vary.

Pm me if you need any help

What gives a better vaping experience on a 510 or ego battery,
A cartomizer like the borge 2.0 or the 510 tank with atomizer?

Just my opinion. Boge 2.0 by far. For cost/performance/convenience, Boge's are hard to beat. Boge 2.0's are particularly well suited to eGo style batteries.

I'm a new vaper, and have been using a Joye 510 mega with a LR tank atty. I love the 510-T LR - better hits, less refilling than the stock one. Now I'm waiting for my Riva 510 to arrive. My plan was to use the 510-T LR on that, but after reading this I'm curious about the Boge 2.0. I guess I never seriously considered a cartomizer because I was turned off by the idea of them being disposable. Don't cartomizers get to be an expensive way of doing it? How long does a Boge 2.0 last you?

Everybody is different. Most people get 4-7 days out of a Boge. I never really measured because I always have 3 or 4 going at the same time. (different flavors) At $9 for a box of 5 it's not expensive to try them. I get mine from MadVapes.

Be patient when filling a new carto. If you take a hit before the coil is wet, you'll get a nasty burnt taste that really lingers.

Thanks... I'm guessing that you read my location as N.Carolina? I don't know of a Cornelius in N.California (I am in a small town, way north, and there's plenty of N.Cal. that I'm not so familiar with... so maybe there is one). Anyway, I'll definitely check them out. The 5 Boges for $9 sounds good, and there are a few other things that I need.

Okay, my bad. I am using my smartphone and the text is very tiny. Plus my eyes are not so young anymore. I thought you were in North Carolina. MadVapes is in North Carolina.

Welcome to MadVapes LLC

You can still order online or maybe some of our Northern Californians can point you to a good supplier in your area.

Apologies for the confusion.

Good Day, JJ

No need to apologize... I appreciate the info. Starting out, there are so many options. It's a bit overwhelming. You got me motivated to search for N. Cal. vendors, and I did find a couple so far. Tasty Vapor looks good. I'll probably order from them soon. They're not exactly in my area, but they are in N. Cal.. (I doubt there are any vendors in my area though... there's not much around here in general.)

Thanks! Sounds like a good deal... I like the idea of having 15, since I'm still figuring out what my favorite flavors are, and am constantly jumping around to different ones.

(Sorry casualuser, didn't mean to take over your thread. But since you did already get your question answered, hopefully you don't mind.)
