Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi to everyone . I have sill got "noob" status. I was over two packs a day for a long , long while . Been off the smokes for about three months. This site is amazing. So many helpful posts, from users who know what they are talking about. I have been lurking for a while trying to see what the best set up,for me, will be. I work hard for my money, so baby steps...

I started out with a Kr 808 kit that came with a pass thru, 3bats, pcc, and a lot of cartos. The kit was more than enough to get me off the cancer sticks. Best thing I ever did. I have been cleaning and refilling the carts, bought some juice from a number of vendors. I then purchased a knockoff ego-t kit. I was actually surprised at the quality. i ditched the fake tank system, yuck. I got some xl 510 cartos. and this thing was rocking.

I have since lost 2 808 bats and broken one of the ego clones. I purchased another kr808 bat. And placed an order for the Bolt By smoktech. I also got a few batteries from dx on the way to try out a few mods. I have a little knowledge of wiring circuitry, my mother went to school for electronics when i was younger. I understand the need for a backup as you never know when one of your bats will take a dump. Like i said before money is hard to come by, so the box mods seem like a cheap way for me to always have something to vape on.

I would love to have an Orange Silver Bullet, but its a little out of the price range for the time being. Maybe with all the money I save from not smoking ...

Any way . Thanx for all the great reading material you guys put in here, and thanx for reading my rant if you did . lol.

**Hope this is the right plase to post this.

Yep, you came to the right place! Glad you decided to post up! Looks like you are on the right track. A little research, especially in the beginning will save you loot, and get you an actual system that will work for you. Stick with it, and if you set aside the money from even one pack a day you will have more than enough cash to get a great stable of gear in no time.

Welcome to ECF, friend.

Congrats on 3 months Analog Free !!! That is great. I am also a newbie, just been doing the Ecig thing for a week.
But I am still supplementing with a few analogs per day. But I have cut my use by more than half. What I sometimes do, as mornings and late at night are rough for me, that is when I have like two puffs of an analog and stop and go to Vaping.
As the Vaping keeps the Cravings at bay and gives me that nicotine. But what I am still struggling with is the fact it takes longer for Nicotine replacement products to take effect and ease the craving wherein those Evil Analogs are estimated to take 10 seconds for signal to reach the brain to stop the craving. But I am so thankful for vaping as I have tried other nicotine replacement products and failed.

My goal is to get to the point where there is a craving, I reach for Ecig and not analog for those first 3 Puffs.

Tapering only works for me because of Vaping as I have succeeded before in cutting down to a few analogs a day but could never break the cycle and on bad days, I would increase analogs. I hope to break the cycle this thing with Vaping.

I do have a question about those who have quit analogs. Did you just do Vaping as your nicotine replacement to quit or did you also supplement with another nicotine replacement therapy? As my Quit for Life coach says I may need more than one nicotine replacement product to be able to Quit completely. But naturally each person is different in what has helped them quit. I also have to identify triggers for me and keep a journal and so on and identify the type of smoker I am.

Also, a question for former smokers....do you recommend , in order not to relapse, to continue vaping and gradually reducing nicotine level for about how long?

Mirabella,

There are other thing inside tobacco that you are addicted to. The poisons in cigarettes, along with WTA (Whole Tobacco Alkaloids) also bond with neuro receptors to to cause addiction. With you can either use another form of tobacco to ween yourself off the cigs, or just continue to smoke less and less, until you are ready to try a day without the cancer sticks. Baby steps, my friend. From the research I have done, here, you have come to the right place. Good luck to you, and congrats on successfully cutting down.

Also you should start a thread yourself, and ask these questions, you will most likely get better answers from experienced users that way.

1. I have never successfully quit analogs w/ any of the cessation products. I quit smoking analogs the day I started vaping & haven't had an analog since tht day in Nov 2011. :)

2. Using vaping as a cessation technique has not yet been studied enough to determine if it will work successfully because you are not addressing the habitual motions. That's not to say it won't work. Personally, I'd be happy if I vaped for life as I enjoy the hobby.

Thanks so much for the wonderful advice. It is so helpful. Ecigs will help with the physical addiction, but I am still in the process of working on the psychological addiction which is also strong. I am working gradually on this and analzying my habits, my triggers as I am an emotional smoker. I started out as a social smoker in college and into my 30s but then from age 40 on, I have been an emotional smoker, morel likely to smoke more if I have insomnia, anxiety or depression going on due to a bad day etc.
