I just bought a 110ml bottle of PG, 110ml bottle of VG, green apple flavor, menthol flavor and a 60ml bottle of flavorless 36mg/ml strength nicotine juice (PG base). I've been experimenting with new flavors and different PG/VG percentages, but i cant seem to get alot of vapor unless i use alot of VG, and it brings down the nicotine level to like 16-20. I really need like 28-30 mg of nicotine in order to get my "fix", so im wondering if there is a way to still get alot of vapor AND maintain high nic percentage.

P.S I have a blu electronic cigarette, and buying a higher percentage nicotine base isnt an option for me right now (very poor at the moment).
If there are any tips/tricks that you think might help me it would be gratly appreciated.

Hey James, welcome to the forum and congrats on starting DIY.
Someone else around here may have a better recommendation than me
but maybe getting some vg nic. juice might be your least expensive option.

Unfortunately the blus just aren't very flexible. Maybe try posting in the blu forum or the DIY e-liquid
forum when you get enough posts.

Sorry I couldn't help you more. Keep at it!:toast::vapor:

As most (but not all) flavorings we use as vapers are in a pg based diluent,I would suggest that you purchase another bottle of 36 mg/ml nicotine in 100% vg base and mix it with your 100% pg based nic 1:1. Still this would only allow dilution with 20% vg + flavoring before being below your targeted nicotine strength. Research the flavorings you are or intend to use as each manufacturers recommended starting percentage of flavorings varies a great deal.

Allow yourself more leeway by ordering 48mg/ml nicotine next time. Have fun,be safe and happy vaping.

ETA: After further review,I see cash is an issue for now. With that being the case, there isn't a lot you can do to increase vapor production and maintain a higher nic level. The only thing that may help is to use as much vg as possible while still maintaining your nic level .

Hi James. Ok so for now you will have to deal with a lack of vapor production due to the PG nic you currently have and the high Mg level you Need..... Now thats not to say you have to suffer, but you will(or I would) likely should just use what you have for nic, until you can replace it with a VG based nic.You will still get the nic just not the big plumes of vapor you desire. I do agree that for starting out you should be mixing with lower concentrations until you get accustomed to mixing and all the safety precautions associated with higher nic bases. When you can you should look into getting yourself a VG based nic. All the other ingredients will still be useable later, just blow through some of the PG nic and start over with a VG nic base. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Where you get the large bottles of PG and VG,drug stores?

I don't (and wouldn't myself).

Check out:

WIZARDLABS.COM (This is where I get mine.)

www.highdesertvapes.com
DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store
www.ecigexpress.com

There's more ... but they have everything you'll need! I'd start with wizardlabs first though ... good prices and great products.

Then check out highdeserts ... good selection of flavors (they also carry Capella's and FlavorWest).

Hope that helps. :)

My DIY method is to first figure out what flavor concentration I need, using very small batches. Mix up no-nic PG/VG to close to the ratio you want. Lets say 50/50. Try 1 drop flavor, 19 drops of this 50/50 mix (that's 5% flavor). If that's not enough, try 2 flavor to 18 of this base. Then 3 to 17, 4 to 16,... until you get close to the flavor % you like. Only then should you move up to a larger batch. I do my 2nd round in 3ml or 5ml batches, with nic, since I'm confident I didn't mix up some ungodly strong flavor. Once I get the recipe down, I'll move up to a 10ml or 30ml batch.

Starting with 36mg/ml nic base:
15% flavor (assuming PG based flavor) the best you can get is 20mg/ml at PG/VG 70/30 ( or 30mg/ml at PG/VG of 93/7)
5% flavor 20mg/ml, PG/VG 60/40 (or 30mg PG/VG 83/17)

Since your nic base is PG, the only way to increase nic is to reduce VG. If your base was VG+nic, you could have reduced the PG while increasing nic. Other option would be a higher % nic to start with (I use 60mg/ml PG, and can adjust with plain PG and VG to get 40/60 at 24mg, or 50/50 at 30mg)

Suggestion: mix up some each way. Use the lower nic/higher VG when you want more vapor, and the higher nic/lower VG when you really need the higher nic. Or even a less-flavored/higher nic batch, with at least some vapor. I know I can vape 18mg eliquids for a while, and get out the 24mg for when I need it, then go back to the 18mg. Just gotta weigh how important nic/vapor/flavor is for you.

To answer your question more directly, their isn't anything you can do to get more vapor and end up with 28mg/ml juice considering what you have.

The highest VG you could achieve would be about 22% with no flavoring added, which is mostly ok vapor wise. I am assuming your are comparing to the original Blu liquid from Johnson Creek, which to claimed to be all VG. Until you get a higher nic concentrations, Nic in a VG/PG blend or a setup running at higher voltage/wattage you are pretty much stuck.

Sorry, :(
