Just wanted to share my experience w/ "Just Vape" in Quincy, Mass.

Ive been vaping for a few months now - I own a few different systems; using an X-power as my main vape these days. Recently, it broke in my pocket at work. I live near Boston, but I usually get my supplies from Vapers Haven in western mass. Anyway I didn't want to make the trip this time, so I figured I'd check out Just Vape. I walked in 90% sure I was going to buy his system (G6 is the only one he sells), but he oversold me hard anyway. I tried it out in the shop, and I liked the hardware and the fluid (halo), so I knowingly overpaid - $100 for two batts, seven cartomizers, a 30-mil bottle of Halo fluid, and a wall/USB charging setup.

Couple of things you should know: it's *Cash Only* and -- unfortunately I didn't notice this -- *All Sales are Final.*

Between the overselling, cash only, and no refunds, I should have been wary. But I needed something, so I'm not sure It would have made a difference if he had told me all sales were final. (it's in small print at the bottom of the receipt.)

When I went to charge the unit in my car, it was clear from the adapter indicator light that the battery wasn't pulling a charge. Long story short, neither batteries took a charge, in the car, off my computer, or with the wall socket. After a few attempts to charge both batteries, I packed everything back up as it came.

When i went to return everything (minus the fluid- I had opened the bottle, and it was good fluid anyway) a couple days later (it was the weekend and I didnt feel like making a special trip), the guy was super defensive and accused me of breaking it. He licked the batteries and said he tasted fluid on them, and pointed out that I had used the USB adapter in the car ( this seems like a ridiculous point of contention, since the USB dongle is always going to have to plug into something that doesn't come with the kit). He suggested I had lost money gambling and was just looking to get some cash together (absurd on several counts), and was generally just dickish about the whole thing -- all the while telling me that he was being professional.

To his credit, he replaced the batteries (one of them actually works!), but at that point I had soured, and really just wanted my money back and to never lay eyes on the guy again.

Take all this fwiw, but I would say you should be wary of buying stuff from a store that won't take any returns, for any reason-- especially since you can get the same kit online for half as much. It's a shame there isn't a decent place to get ecig supplies w/in an hour of Boston. If dude hadn't been such a ...., I might have gone back to get fluid now and then (Halo is good stuff). I certainly would have been happy not to have to schlepp all the way out to Easthampton (The guy at Vapers Haven is cool/helpful/doesnt oversell; they have a 7 day return policy) when I need supplies.

In general, I understand that ecigs are all made in china and arent high quality. Sucks for consumers and is a liability for retailers. But if you sell something that doesn't work, seems to me you should give the customer his money back.

I'd be interested in hearing about other peoples experience w/ general quality of ecigs. Do you have one that 1)smokes well w good throat hit -- even after a month or two 2) can stand up to being in your pocket?

Sorry about your bad experience. I recommend buying from the online original vendors like Halocigs for the G6, or the identical model at Bloogplanet and SmokelessImage. Or the other style of KR808D-1 at V4L.com. They all have good service. I have never had a problem getting something defective (rare) or sent in error replaced.

Re quality - I don't buy junk and I don't buy auto batteries. All auto batteries can be damaged or killed if you get juice inside them. Ditto for any manuals that have a totally open hole in the middle of the threaded end but they are still harder to damage or kill than autos. Manuals also make it easier you to get a better hit. And on a manual KR808D-1 you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip to test new juices without dirtying or wasting a cartomizer. (drip tips not recommended on manuals)

Beyond that - every part has the potential to fail. For any ecig you depend on you should have at least a 3rd battery, a second charging cable, spare cartomizers (which have short lives) and/or atomizers (degrade and/or die) and plenty of eliquid (because new vapers are the ones that run out of liquid).

And you need to treat your equipment properly. never screw anything in further than needed to electrically connect and work (and that includes chargers). Keep the threaded ends of your battery clean and dry - wipe with a tissue every time before putting the battery on the charger, fill cartos OFF the battery and clean them up well. And never put lower ohms attys/cartos on batteries than they should use. In generally slim batteries should only use things from 2.5 to 3 ohms. If you put lower stuff on you can easily damage the batteries. Stuff under 2.5 ohms can be used on batteries that are 450mah+. Some will only go as low as 1.5 ohm on mods (occasionally 1.5 ohms can kill a mass-produced fat battery model).

So far the only ecig parts I have damaged were caused by me (screwing a big battery too far onto the charger than breaking it trying to lift the center post back up) and by 2 vendors selling my incorrect charging cables for slim 510 batteries (they gave me Ego cables which had too many mA and ruined the charging-holding ability of 5 slim batteries before I found both offending cables)

Also sorry about your purchase. Almost 3 months and my PVs are like new. I recommend you buy from an ECF listed Supplier. I WOULDN'T buy anywhere else. To stay listed here they have to abide by a strict code of ethics and if they do not provide customers with good service and product members here will call them out.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Welcome to ECF. It's unfortunate to have had such a bad experience with a business that is local to you. It can put a very bad taste in your mouth. Yes, much of the hardware that most of us use is manufactured off shore. However, as vapoor pointed out, if you try to stay with the vendors that are registered with this forum I think you'll see that QC isn't so much of an issue.

Nice. Thanks dormouse for the thorough reply. I tend to be an instant gratification kind of guy -- which accounts for preferring buying from stores. Now that I have 3 systems tho, it's online for me from now on.

The broken x power wasnt a total waste -- I took it apart and got a good sense for how it works, what's delicate and what's not. (I had the button on my first xpower batt break the first time I touched it a few months ago. Ended up having to use a pencil eraser as a substitute). I rehabbed an old atomizer (not delicate at all) and got it working better than new, so that's making me feel better about how many I'll have to buy down the line.
