Hey all, this time out I am testing out a 6v eGo to see if it is something worth carrying, or not. Unfortunately, this one is going to be the latter. I was really excited when I heard that there may be a 6v eGo, which could be a good option for those of you out there who want something with higher voltage. Kinda bummed that this probably wont satisfy that craving. Beware, some out there are selling this as a Joye 6v eGo, but that is not the case. This is the same model as the eCo, eGo-n and I also believe is similar to the Riva. Guess we will just have to keep waiting for an actual 6v Joye eGo or if they can tweak this model and number 1, get rid of that pesky 5 second cutoff... I have seen this exact model for $80 with ONE battery... not a good deal what-so-ever. Doesn't feel like a 6v, but it does have a 1200mah battery, the one high point to this unit. vape On!

So is it actually 6V? or is it 3.7V? did you try different attys on it? i'm confused.

It is marketed as a 6v eGo. I don't believe it is actually putting out 6volts, but I don't have a meter handy to test it. If I can get a hold of one I will update... I did try low resistant attys, didnt work. Also tried the new Joye cartos, which are 3.0 ohms, and those didn't work, but they work on the regular eCo... go figure. Only thing I got to work on it was a regular resistance 510 atty... So it could be higher than 3.7v, but I didn't feel like it was, and I doubt it is even 5v, let alone 6v...

If it performed the same with a standard Joye 510 atty, then I would say it's a safe bet it is actually a 3.7V ego.

Thanks for the review. I am not a fan of video reviews, but very informative. You really should get a multi meter for your reviews. $8 ECONOMY DIGITAL MULTIMETER | AllElectronics.com They are more trustworthy than harbor freight, and tyou can pick up some handy key chain cases which hold an entire eGo disasembled for $0.50(other cases too). PADDED MINI-POUCH | AllElectronics.com I would not buy it w/ that cutoff either. Please update when you get an MM. Really, every vaper should have one.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I just never really had a need for one... until now. I am gonna check out that site and see about picking one up. When I find out I will let you all know. But I agree, the 5sec cut-off is too much for me...

Considering those key chain cases go for at least $5 on e-cig sites, if you get a couple for a buck, it's like your getting the MM for free. lol

Haha, very true! Have you ordered from that site before? Does it take long to ship?

I haven't ordered from them, they are local to me and I LOVE walking through that place. Sometimes I don't even buy anything, I just like to look at all the goodies. But I usually buy at least a couple of those cases...I mean a buch for two. Why not.

Hey you all, Rob over at the GoodProphets forum had this to say about the 6v "eGo"...

I will say that the 6v [eGo] actually is 5v, which is a good thing.
The cutoff is being worked on, as is the protection circuit.

The problem with the 6v [eGo] is that the protection wont let you use any atomizer.
You need to use atomizers of 4 ohm or something like that, which defeats the purpose.

I am currently working to fix that, and if so 5volts with a 3.0-3.5 ohm (depended on liquid formulation) will be the hit.
