Right apologies for my lack of knowledge on the subject but I have no knowledge on that side of vaping so I was hoping you guys could help me. I have some questions about the kanga subtank as I was wondering if it was the right tank for me.

1) can you buy pre built coils for it or do you have to build your own after using the supplied ones?

2) are the pre built coils if purchase able good with the better liquids, the sweeter and thicker liquids in comparison to the nautilus for example?

3) do you have to lung hit using the tank or can you vape as normal if you aren't sub ohming it?

4) is the tank strictly high powered or can you lower the power as and when you need to? I Vape on lower power now so having to go 5 volts plus would be a massive change for me.

thank you in advance for the help!

Hi Sacred! Please keep in mind that there are three sizes of subtank: the plus, the mini and the nano. For the plus and the mini, they come with a rebuildable section that you can use in place of the pre-built coil. You can also rebuild the stock coils very easily.

In comparison to the nautilus, I'd say the flavor is quite a bit better and the vapor production is on par. With the subtank plus, it's possible to do a MTL inhale on the lowest setting. It feels about like a nautilus mini on the highest or second highest airflow setting.

If you want to use lower power to vape, there's nothing saying you have to use your tank at high watts. the pre-built coils come in 1.2 and 0.5 ohms, with recommended ranges of from 12-25 for the 1.2 and 15-30 for the 0.5. You can rebuild the rebuildable section to any ohms you want.

Also, in addition to the coils provided or using the rebuildable deck for the regular sub tank..you can use the dual coils (like for their mega/v2's)

the mini you have to use those square coil things that they came with only.

Ed uses one at about 12 watts with a 1.5 ohm coil

the standard ones were too "strong" with the lung hits for him.

My everyday atomizer is a Kanger sub tank. I prefer the taste and vapor quality of the Nautilus mini. To get that with the sub tank I use the RTA, make 1.6-2.0 ohm coils and fire them at 10-14 watts and restrict the draw to about the same as the N mini. The smallests hole on the Kanger sub mini is still too large so I open that hole a crack to get a more restricted draw.

I avoided rebuilding for months. It's time consuming at first but finally you'll get it. I got tired of buying and stocking coil heads. I find I'm replacing the wick about every other day to get the best taste. That seems too often but may be my e liquid gunks up coils faster than some.

IMO, the Subtank Mini is the most versatile clearo/RTA available. Not too big, not too small. High or low power. High or low air flow. Many choices on coils -- build your own on the RBA, buy replacement OCC factory coil heads, or rebuild the OCCs to your specs.

Prices of the replacement OCC coil heads are a bit on the high side right now, but they last a long time (but I don't use sweets, wouldn't know about those) and price will probably go down over time... plus, as yuseffuhler said, they're easily rebuildable... a big plus for me.

The thickest eliquid I've tried so far is 70% VG, and the OCC coils handled it just fine, no burnt taste or dry hits. I use mine at anywhere from 8w to, at most, 15w... normally around 11-12w.

You don't have to lung hit it, turn the air and power down and mouth hit.

I use mine on an iStick 30, just checked and it's reading 1.1Ω, 12w, 3.6v

Good Luck

I use the subtank mini,I make ~2 ohm coils and run them at about 5.6 watts for the RTA part of the tank,I have not tried the premade coils it came with.
I found the tank was a tad airy on the draw for mouth to lung hits with my first rolled coil, fattening the coil to a 2.9mm inner id put the draw to where I like it.Sorry I have no experience with the nautilus

I thought you may be able to get some more answers if I moved this to Clearomizers, so I went ahead and did that for you :)
As per your question

1) yes you can buy prebuilt, but building is always going to be cheaper
2)Depends on the liquid. Some are coil gunkers, and since with prebuild coils its harder to tear out the wick and dry burn the coils... you may have a little bit more issue. but thicker is usually for clouds anyways...
3)Dont need to lung hit. Vape any way you want. whatever feels good... even with sub ohm. I sub ohm. I dont lung hit.
4) See we usually talk about wattage here. if you took up the wattage, the voltage goes up. So When I vape on 60 watts with 0.2 I am pulling in 4.2 Volts. If I vaped at 40 watts with 0.6 i would pull in over 5 watts.
at this level... the power wont be an issue as much. but the lower the ohm, the higher the power. this level of subohm though, its not a big deal. But for a lower ohm, more power needs to go through to achieve the same Voltage.
