Kanger Aerotank question

My question is: I have (2) mini protank 2's...and several old coils of said tanks. I also own an aerotank which I like very much, but the dual coil design seems to burn through juice pretty quickly, as well as my mod's battery (itaste mvp 2). So, I rebuilt one of my protank 2 coils using 28 gauge kanthal + organic cotton for the wick. Tested at 1.6 ohms, so I inserted it into my aerotank base + aerotank and vaped away. Started off great; good clouds, good flavor, until today when I started noticing something odd. I would continually wind up with juice in my mouth, despite no gurgling or flooding coming from the tank/atty head. Am I missing something here? I'm aware that the aerotank coils are a bit longer, since the atty base holds two coils instead of one as the stock protank coils do. I did the same build on an aerotank coil, and so far I haven't had the same problem. Does it have something to do with the protank coil bases being a bit shorter? The clear rubber grommet that sits at the base of the post is also smaller on the protank coils. I've read in a couple of places that people use their protank and protank 2 coils in the aerotank with no issues whatsoever. Can someone enlighten me as to what could be happening here? Thanks.

Their are two possibilities that I can think of off the top:
Pull your drip tip off and check for condensation build up
The other is to add a second atomizer grommet to the aerotank vapor tube.

Ok I did that...I blew on one end, and it looks like the liquid that blew out the other end was a mixture of condensation (too thin/watery to be just juice only) and the juice itself (the juice in question is cappuccino, so it's a light brown). I've heard of people using 2 grommets stacked back to back...I suppose I will try that. Btw, my aerotank coil rebuild is failing hard after a few hits. Very low vapor, as well as gurgling. I might've used a bit too much wick.

I rebuild my aerotank coils as singles. I stack wick, coiled wick, wick to fill in all of that space. I coil to 1.4 to 1.7 ohms (6 wraps of 30 ga kanthal around my little screwdriver). The advantage to this build is the 2 non coiled wicks protect the bottom grommet from coil burns and protect the coil from touching the chimney. I rarely have any flooding and can vape them at 10 watts on my MVP2.

As far as the old single coils from the protank 2, I bought aero bases for the protanks and still use them.

I don't have an aerotank (hope to soon, though!). However, I have a PT3 Mini which uses the same dual coils as the Aerotank. On my PT3 Mini I cannot use Evod coils (the singles in the PT2) but I can use the single coil heads for the T3S/MT3S (they're a little taller than the Evod head). Maybe these will work?

" Very low vapor, as well as gurgling" is a perfect description of flooding, which would imply too little wick or a grommet issue.

I put an aerotank base and single coil PT atomizer on my puritank and it works great. Being able to vary the draw from zero to wide open is great.
