Kanger Pro Tank II doesn't fit on my Kamry K1000 pipe, both are 510 threaded ?!

I'm reading online that the Kamry K1000 pipe is 510 threaded and that the Pro tank II is also 510 threaded. However, the small part of the atomizer relying it to the battery through the adaptor isn't the same size on the single-coil atomizers that comes with the pipe than the one on the ProTank II. How do I fix this problem? I've seen people attach this tank with an adaptor without a problem. I am able to attach it but there is no smoke coming out as if there was no contact.
Thanks!

I remember reading once.. long ago, that the "trick" to this was you have to screw the adaptor on to the tank first, and then screw it to the pipe.

I dont know if this works or not, I just remember reading something like that from some random post when I was thinking of getting a K1000 ( i never did get one btw)

That is what I did, otherwise it wouldn't screw all the way.
