Kanger protank 3 issues

Hi everyone. I am a new user here and fairly new to camping as well. I started in November 2013. I have been using the buck naked express setup over the past few months and found I was ripping through tanks. I just purchased a kanger protank 3. I have had a couple problems with it: 1. When I first filled it and put it on my buck naked battery it worked for a few hits then produced little to no vapor.
2. juice is leaking out of the bottom where the battery connects I the tank and I am getting that gurgling noise and a mouth full of juice any time I try to hit it. (I tried blowing the excess juice out. Taking it apart and putting back together etc.)

I am not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or if my battery is not strong enough for it or whatever but it is very frustrating. Also, if the battery is the issue I am looking to spend around $40 on something better. I don't know much about the batteries but I think I want one that I can control the voltage on.

If anyone can help me out in any way that would be awesome

Kanger Airflow Control Valve - Protank II, Protank 3, Aerotank

This will make it impossible for the base to leak onto the battery as the bottom is completely sealed.

Protanks are notorious for having leaking and airflow problems. For 5 bucks, this will potentially fix both. I believe that vendor also sells coils that you could tack on to warrant paying the shipping.

Make sure the coil/atomizer head is literally as tight as you can get it on the base. Also, make sure it's tight after every refill.

If you want a new battery in the $40 range you could look into an MVP 2. There's lots of info on the site about them and I love mine. It was $44.

Thanks. I have heard of the cotton working pretty well.i will have to try. I still don't know what's up with me not getting hardly any vapor when I hit it though

Once the coil gets flooded you won't get much flavor.

It's like if you drip water on a hot frying pan you get a sizzle and steam.
But if you pour a whole load of water in the pan it just gets hot till it starts to burble

sorry if I am jumping in I am new to the forum, but I did work a solution that helps a lot, especially if you are able to rebuild a kanger Pro2.
Was getting the same problem no vape on the same juice as the 2. Thought maybe the head and changed it. Not much difference. Just as I was about to put it away for a rainy day thought I would try nd rebuild, but that dual coil thing is just to much for my eye sight even with my magnifier.
I built a coil with a screwdriver [#'s on the screwdriver say 2.5 x 40mm] 6 wraps coils not touching but close with 30 g kanthal. Got it into the head and checked ohms was 1.8. used a cotton wick a little more snug than I normally would and left the ends a little long. Put the chimney on and then before putting it into the base I fluffed the wicks so it looked like 2 big cotton balls on each side i mean really fluffy. put it in the base and dropped a little juice on each side. screwed on the tank and filled it.
I left it on its side for about 10 minutes or so took a few dry hits and crossed my fingers.
Protank 2 hit. I mean beautiful, lotsa flavor lotsa vape [50/50 copperhead road double barrel] It leaked about 3 hours later. mean gurgle and into the battery cap. Cleaned battery wiped tip and blew out tube.
Not any other time has this been happening and been vapeing on for 3 days now.
NOTE it will gurgle bit if it gets to about 1/4 full so I keep it capped off.
A little work but for the price I paid and the p.o.s that I thought it was I have a pretty damn good tank now.

I have found that for some reason Kanger products are not all exactly the same, got one that wont thread on e smoov but will on a smok so give it a try it worked for me and if it doesn't for you there has to be a way to make it work.
Vape Naturally really

i have both PT2 and PT3 and ya they leak.... sometimes its fixed by adding some cotton between the top of the wick and stem other times its over tightening or under tightening. they are hit or miss for me. i rebuild my PT3s now into single coils and after about a week they leak again. replace the wick and it stops leaking for a week. as for weak vapor i would suggest getting a different battery, the vamo is nice for cheap money. also for even less most there is the ego twist.
