Hey quick question, is it possible to re wick the Kanger Protank 3, the setup is different than all the videos I have seen since it is duel coil, anyone ever done it if so can I see a picture or guide?

here is the master coil wrapper
doing a dual coil, and making it look easy...

you recoil the double coil as a single? how do you do that??

Just make a single coil. Use the same technique you would as you would for a regular protank. The coil components are basically the same between the the two tanks, except the PT3 has dual wires. Look up you tube videos on recoiling a protank if you are not sure how to do it. It is fairly easy to do.

Yeah I'm just gonna go ahead and confirm what others have said. The issue is that the flavour wick is actually placed between the two coils and it's a nightmare to remove it without having to disassemble the two coils.

Instead of going to the efforts of changing the wicks, it's so much easier to just build a single coil and put it into the atomiser head. I've found that a good single coil performs as well as or even better than the stock Kanger dual coil heads. There are a number of videos about rebuilding the Protank 3 head. All Protanks are pretty similar when rebuilding them. They're the first coils I ever did.

Ok, I've looked at the videos and yea, if I was going to rewick it, I might as well recoil it too. I don like the dual coils anyways. I ordered my supplies and will be doing this next week. I love tinkering with things like this and can't wait to get started

It can be a bit fiddly at first but once you nail it you'll probably find yourself buying rebuildables.

I didn't realize these were rebuildable at all. Pretty new beyond just buying "plug and play." Is the rebuild just for savings over replacing, or can you get a better vape by doing it?

They are not true rebuildables but they can be rebuilt; especially if you have good eyes and are one of santa's little elves!!
Actually with my poor eyes and fat finger I've still managed to get a few of those grommets back in;
rewicking with cotton turned out to be the more frequent activity.

Just for fun, I decided to rewick a 1.5 ohm PT3 head with cotton. I soaked in isopropyl alcohol, removed all silica, rinsed and dry burned. I used a small screwdriver to move the top coil legs clear of the bottom coil, then inserted a thin cotton wick in each coil. This part required reading glasses. I fluffed the wicks on each side, and didn't add any flavour wicking. It's just thick enough to keep tight with no gurgling, and has a very airy draw. Works great, but no better than recoiling with a single micro coil unless you really want an airy draw.

I just rewicked a T3D (which if I'm not mistaken uses the same atomizer as the protank 3 and aerotank) with cotton. If you're technical enough it works out okay to thread the cotton in there. Yes the wire blocking the coils can be tricky but the cottons threading end will push it out of the way (if you've clipped the threading end so it's trim).

The only issue I've noticed is that after a cotton re-wick without rebuilding the coils, the thing tends to leak a bit at first. Bear in mind I didn't thread a thick amount of cotton through since I didn't want to risk pushing the coils around.

I would abandon the flavor wick too, but some people are afraid of this eventually leading to a short. You sure that's safe?
