Kanger sub mini with new liquid

My setup is an eleaf istick 50w with a kanger subtank mini vaping at 27 watts and I prime all of my coils and then let soak in liquid for atleast 5-10min. I usually buy from one place at 50/50 vg/pg at 12mg nic. I recently went to a different place and got their juice at 70/30 vg/pg 12mg nic. The guy made the liquids right there and then, and they are so harsh I cough every time I vape. In the morning I will vape once and cough hard which is somewhat normal, just not this hard, but after I get used to it after the morning if I take more than 2-3 vapes I will cough....like REALLY bad, as if I am sick/my lungs hate me. The other liquid I usually buy I can vape all day with no problem.

That and with one of the flavors they gave me that I REALLY like 3 fresh coils have dry burned on me after 2-3 draws using this liquid. Am I not supposed to use 70/30 vg/pg on these coils or do you think they made them wrong? I love this flavor, I just wind up abusing myself trying to make it work with the same result, one flavor I don't get dry burn but still hurts my lungs bad, and the last flavor doesn't hurt as much with no dry burn. Trying to figure out if I can go back and ask them to remake with the same ratio (I am a fan of 70-100% vg and the other place doesn't custom the ratio) or if I should only be doing 50/50 with these coils.

Ok as far as the harsh hit is concerned you should try to steep the new juice it does alot in terms on melowing out harsh hits, also make the flavors a little better but i digress. As far as the dry burns i us 60/40 on mine and i dont really ever have that problem. I dont know if 70/30 would be thay big of a difference but that is were i would start first. Hope this helps.

You say the guy made the liquids right there. I would probably suggest the juice needs to steep. Set it back and go back to it in a couple weeks. In the mean time go pick you up some pre steeped juice while you wait.

Also maltsby posted a great link explaining steeping. I would read through that as well while you wait :p

If you're using the OCC coils, make sure they are well saturated before firing them up. I drop a few drops of juice in the top and keep doing that until the exposed wick on the sides starts to change color. Then put a drop on the exposed wick and put the tank together. I've read here where some people have taken a needle and poked into the exposed coil to help them wick better. Also, don't fire it up at 27 watts the first time you hit a coil. Start around 13 watts for a few draws, then move up to 15, then to 18, then to 20, etc. Let the coil break in.

I started out with 24mg with ego twist and itaste mvp, switch to subohm and learned REAL quick not to stay at 24mg haha, dropped down to 12mg which seemed to work for me until I tried this new stuff. I think I'll go back and grab a 8mg nic of the flavor I really like (sour kool-aid) and let it steep for a while and then try it again. I just don't understand the dry burning after 2-3 draws, happened on 3 seperate coils before I finally gave up. I do prime the coils (saturate the new wick) and I let it sit in a full tank for atleast 5-10 min, so I was thinking maybe the 70/30 vg/pg was too thick for the wick, but apparently 70/30 is good to go in the subtanks.

I addressed the taste factor and overlooked your comment about the dry hits...

My experience with subtank mini stock coils has been very hit and miss. My first mini was defective, but after I got a good one I realized that the stock coils certainly played their part too. I think I even had a 5pk where at least 4 were bad, if not all 5.
