I bought the sub tank mini about 2 weeks ago and have run both OCCs. The first week and a half, I ran the 1.2 on a 20 watt MVP set at 17 watts.

The last few days, I ran the .5 on a Istick 50 watt at 24 watts.

Here are my own observations so far; The 1.2 OCC was a cooler vape with less vapor production, but the flavor was great. The .5 OCC was a much warmer vape with lots of cloud production, but a little less flavor.

Im going to keep playing around with them and adjusting the wattage on both devices. But at this point if I had to choose one or the other, I would go with the 1.2 OCC based on flavor.

Next week im going to order some 6 mg nicotine juice and start over. All of what I have tried so far, has been with 12 mg. Maybe with the 6 mg, the .5 OCC will be a different vape.

I will add this.... This is by far the best tank I have ever used. It took a little time to get use to the direct lung hit, but now that I am use to it, I won't go back to MTL.

Thanks for posting your experiences with both coils. Been vaping the Subtank 25mm for about a month now and it's become my primary tank. I've only used the .5 ohm coils and after reading your post am looking forward to vaping on the 1.2 ohm coils.

What wattage are you running on your device?

learnman96, I have the same issue with the Subtank vs Atlantis and wattage. I use the Atlantis at anywhere between 20w and about 28w and after that it just tastes burnt. I've heard people firing up an Atlantis at 60w and I don't understand how it doesn't taste like complete crap to them. The Subtank Mini (with the stock coil in) is restricted to an even lower temperature before it starts to taste burnt. Even 20w can sometimes be too high. That's really the only thing I dislike about the Subtank Mini. That and on both the .5 and 1.2 ohm stock coils the flavor is DEFINITELY muted when compared to using the RBA section or honestly when compared to the Atlantis. I've said this before: I prefer fruity vapes in the Atlantis and creamy, dessert flavors in the Subtank Mini.

I vape the 1.2's in my 25mm subtank between 18 and 20 watts, work great. Use Ni 200 temp sense coils in my subtank mini, 440 degrees between 28 and 30 watts, work fine, just took me a little while to get em dialed in to keep from getting protection warning msgs all the time. I give the nod to the mini set up for vapor production, taste goes to the 1.2's but by only a frogs hair. Both are great and pretty much hassle free. Next will be watching and learning how to rebuild/rewick these coil heads. I've rewicked an Atlantis head with KGD cotton for a friend and it worked fine, tried to rewick a kanger 1.2 but started getting dry hits so have to experiment more with those. By the way, rebuilt the mini rba section with 28 ga Ni 200 at .16 and it works great too. Going to wait till I get my replacement insulator for the 25mm before I try that one, hopefully it will get here soon.

I've since went with the RBA. The flavor is better and so is the vape production. Y'all shoud give it a whirl. You'll be surprised!

Same here...I went with a 1.7ohm coil (like a cooler vape & longer battery life) I still find the flavor to be a little muted compared to the bvc coils I've been using since they came out...But this tank is great haven't had any hassles from it at all:D

UPDATE: Opened the airflow to wide open & flavor is way better!!

I'm apparently having a different experience than most of you, as I just changed to the 1.2 ohm coil today in my subtank mini after about a week and a half on the .5, and I really thought the .5 had much better flavor. I actually found this thread trying to find out if my experiences were the same as the majority's, and apprently, they're not. Any thoughts on why this might be?

I also just ordered a small rebuildables toolkit today, as I'm hoping to try my hand and wrapping coils for the first time. Really looking forward to that.

Oh, I'm using an istick 50w and was running 23-30w with the .5ohm coil (usually about 25w unless I wanted it a little warmer for a bit), and have been playing with 15-23ish watts with the 1.2ohm. I'm also using a Lazarus Vintage ejuice, which the website says runs between 5 and 20% PG. I wonder if that low of a PG may have something to do with it.

I'll have to weigh in more when I give them both a try... Just got mine, running on a mech mod until I get my IStick. I tried the 0.5ohm to begin with just to try it, expecting to find it to be too harsh or hot to my preference, and I love it. Clouds like I've never gotten before and the flavor taste exactly the way it should (something I've never really experienced before using cheap Smok clearos), doesn't hit too hot if I do a slow MTL draw or open up the airflow the entire way.

I'll share more when my first coil is done and I actually use a 1.2... But something tells me what I'll be attempting to build in the RBA deck will be something very similar to the stock 0.5 coils.

Vaping tobacco flavor, 80% VG. No need to add water here like I've had to with a lot of other clearos/attys.
