Hey vape fam, I have an issue that MAY need a tissue. I'm currently using a TID MODS boxmod (two 18650 parallel batts), with my beloved Kanger Subtank Mini with the .5 ohm coils (all authentic). Everything was going well until about a week or so ago. At first I was blowing through coils every other day (mind you, I do vape my face off every day all day). NOW, even when I put a new coil in, I'm not able to hold down the fire button. I have to pulsate the button in order to get a hit, because if I hold it down my coil with burn instantly. Mind you, I've used this tank and coils consistently with both my box mod and my mech mods with no problems prior to a week or so ago. I have literally NO idea what could be causing this, and I'm extremely saddened because the Subtank is my baby (thankfully I got the Delta II yesterday). I thought it may be the .5 ohm coils (opposed to the 1.2 ohm coils), but it makes no difference. I've also tried the 510 connection-- no go. My Delta II is also running off .5 ohm coils and I can fire that baby up perfectly. Does anyone have ANY ideas? Because I'm completely at loss and extremely aggravated and sad. Thank you!!!

One thing I noticed last night when I opened up a new full size subtank....when screwing the OCC coil in, it stopped, then I just gave it a little more pressure to make sure it was tight....and it screwed in about three more threads, so either the threads on the coil were not perfect, or the threads at the base of the atty were not perfect.

It works fine, but see if the coil is truly screwed in all the way.

If you have used the coils in the past I'm sure you're aware priming is necessary, but if you haven't primed it....bye bye coil.

IMO I would not use any premade coils on a unregulated mod. If I am not mistaken, that is an unregulated box mod and fires at full capacity. I am not for sure but I Think that parallel build still will only use 4.2 volts but with a .5 ohm coil comes out to 35.28 watts. You may be frying them instantly. I would only use something regulated as they are only intended for no more than 30 watts......

I agree it would fry them but he said it wasn't doing that the first few coils. Either eat get in a regulated mod and don't just prime the coils but condition them by starting a well primed (wet) coil at the lowest possible wattage and take several puffs at each .3w increments till u get up in the high teens and 20s. Done this way my coils life has doubled and get great clouds at 18-21 watts consistently with 50/50 and 70/30 juices.

I feel like a total idiot now. I went to unscrew the tank to pull some of the cotton out of the side holes to help with wicking, and poof! Mine wasn't screwed in either! I was like "O_O... I know this wasn't the case when I put it in sooo..." So so far so good. Still doesn't fire as well as it used to, but who knows, like CPT.SPALDING said, I could have just gotten a bad batch of coil heads, etc. (my great luck)!

I also thought this ... a possibility. Thank you all for your help!!! I'm back subtankin' it at full capacity (but still will blow through the coil tomorrow or the next day, because like ^^^^^ said, the unreg box might have a lot to do with it (but it wasn't happening before?) Ahhhh the struggle! lmao

Thank you all for the help guys!! :)

Overall subtank rba is my favorite.

I've build my RBA, had someone check it etc, once I screw the damn thing in, I get flooding, no firing, or dry hits. The subtank mini doesn't come with a different top head for the RBA like the full sized Subtank does, not sure if that's got to do with anything lol
