Hello, I have a few questions about this set up. I just purchased both these items..my wife bought me a K100 and I purchased some Sony vtc4 batteries for it. This mech. mod was for the Kanger tank, but I didn't like the inability to change my wattage or volts...like I can with my nautilus mini and the istick 20w that I have.
Anyways, I am using the 30w istick with this Kanger subtank and decided to use the rebuildable coil set up that came with it....but I am not getting loads of vapor or clouds from this...any ideas on how to adjust this or has anyone else found this to be the case with this set up?

With a mech mod the only way to "fine tune" your vape is to build a new coil. With a high vv/vw regulated mod (and its buck/boost circuitry) you can "fine tune" with a push of a button. On a mechanical mod your voltage drops as you vape, with a regulated mod this does not happen. Your first hit is just as good as your last hit.

What is the ohm of your build? Which RDA/RTA are you using?

I did not like the stock duel coils that came in my rebuildable so I put in a single coil at .5 and it is a whole lot better. With the duel coils that came in mine the ohms kept switching around. I get more vape now with a single coil. I forget but it was either 24 or 26 gauge for .5. I built a single 1.2 ohm and it worked well as well. Mostly I run my single .5 coil at 22.5 watts. Never did use the two stock coils that came with mine. I ordered 5 more authentic rebuildable sections and new glass from FastTech so I can have spares. CHEERS!

Okay, I am not ready to actually rebuild or make any coils yet (don't have the equipment). Bought the tank so that I could get into the whole rebuild thing.
So do you think I could get away with removing one of the coils or does that lower the ohms?...I have tried everything from lowering the watts to adjusting the air flow via the holes on the tank...oh and by the way, it does leak from the airflow ports just like someone else mentioned in another post

The RTA portion of the subtank has considerably less airflow than when using it with pre-made coil heads - because of this I've noticed the vapor production is much less. The flavor is about the same (meaning pretty amazing for a clearomizer)

You're never going to get massive clouds from the subtank using it in RTA mode for this reason.

If you remove one of the coils, you will increase the resistance to 1ohm and get even less vapor.

I"m glad you posted this, Ed's got his SubTank with his new Vapor Flask and it's better with a 1.0 or .8ohm coil than the one that it comes with, he'd not done the rebuildable yet..but I guess I'll do a "kayfun" one coil build on it Sunday.

but I've ordered my SubTank, and I used 8 other V2's and want the istick 30watt to cure my "ills" if you will that I have with the 20 watt ones..the spring loaded pin, and you can sub ohm with it..

anyone tried that combo yet? (v2s/mega/sub tank) with the istick 30 watts?

I'm using an iStick 50W with Aspire Atlantis and an iStick 30W with Kanger Sub tank mini and the iStick 30W can easily power the sub tank. I'm using the stock 0.5ohm coil.....also, just got this tank this morning. Now, having both tanks and running them on my iStick 50W I really didn't notice any difference in vapor production. The flavor is amazing in the sub tank though. Although, this could be do to it being a new coil. Both the Aspire Atlantis and the Kanger Sub tank mini are great tanks. The only advantage IMHO that the sub tank has over the Atlantis is the tank capacity. 2.5 ml Atlantis and 4.5 Sub tank mini. Other than this there really us no clear winner. Both vape great. I would recommend both to anyone.
